Steam Pirates, the latest creation from the mind of Luc Bernard, is a zany, colorful, casual RPG/Adventure game featuring a loaded cast of pirates, pugs, cats, and rockstars!
"The combat is a blast, but the real star here is the world Bernard has created... Steam Pirates is really shaping up to be something special. In a world with a thousand movie tie-in games and old franchises chugging along, it's refreshing to play something so original." - SlideToPlay.com
Steam Pirates appeals to the casual gamer and the long-time hardcore gamer alike with its traditional turn-based RPG battle system and emphasis on exploration broken up by platforming elements and various addicting mini-games. As the player you will struggle in battles against an army of cats and robots and take part in dramatic ship battles.

App would benefit from common sense
Fifteen minutes of playing was all I could take. The story and dialogue are incredibly cliche (if not unbelievably awful), there's no tutorial, maps, or any other forms of help, and whoever programmed this app enjoys wasting peoples' time in the most frustrating ways. For example, both you and the enemy waste a few seconds taking two steps forward (approx. 1 cm of movement) every time you (or they) attack. This will stretch battles on for ridiculous amounts of time - for what? You attack with a gun, for Pete's sake.
Honestly - paying someone a dollar to repeatedly punch you in the face is not only a better value than this app, but it'd have the same effect as playing through to the end.
Great Stylized Game - Lousy Save Option
The game looks great and is fun to play, except for one thing however, and this is a big one for me, the save option is for crap.
Take a phone call or exit the game for any reason and all progress is lost back to your last save.
As far as any update from the dev, well, just follow the links to the Fried Green Apples homepage or to the Steam Pirates support page and say hello to 'Get in2 Taylor Swift'.
I do not think the dev is going to do much to support the game: so it is what it is.
For 99¢ this game is a OK deal, you just have to deal with the save option the best you can.
The game's itself is awesome. But I still think that more save points would be nice. I'm fine with the game speed, but I would like a description of the skills so I don't have to find out by trial and error. Also maybe an ingame map of the islands that is revealed as you explore. I hated that it was so hard to get to the boat from an island, especially some of the ones with split paths. Oh, one more thing. A HP counter for the enemies would be great.
