Kids learn best when engaged and having fun. Video modeling helps teach your child the correct behaviors of what to do in the correct situation.
"Young children learn by exploration---seeing and doing things that are available to them. Progress in learning is a result of many experiences with both successes and failures at home, in school and the playground. Most learning in early childhood occurs in this way in safe, natural surroundings with guidance by parents and other adults.
The Wonkidos video series provides opportunities for young children to learn effective ways to negotiate common developmental challenges----potty training, getting dressed, playing with friends and more. The short, animated programs are engaging to kids because they are stories that are told from the child's perspective in an entertaining way. Sound developmental principles are written into the scripts to maximize learning. As they watch these video stories, children learn about their ability to make things happen in the family and with friends. Ultimately, it teaches them how to successfully use their new motor, language and social skills. The Wonkidos video series is an important contribution to early childhood learning."

Great Activities of Daily Living App
This app plays like a cartoon or video in story mode, but I absolutely love it for its direct simplicity. Its a video model in super hero style. I also like the fact that they portray the weather as a factor in what you wear...an especially important concept for kids that have transition and clothing issues. The "Can do" song is great and can be generalized for learning any activities of daily living. Each step is demonstrated and explained, guiding you through getting dressed. There is a short game/quiz mode that can be used for data collecting the sequence of dressing. There is a link to other apps by the same company discreetly placed in the corner of the main page. Otherwise there are no ads or IAPs.
Daughter loves all the Wonkidos apps!
Please fix it so kids can't access the volume and the fast forward, rewind, etc. My little girl is 5 and has autism. She can't turn up the volume on the iPad yet, but she turns Wonkidos up full blast! We're constantly turning the volume back down! She also skips and watches the same scenes over and over, and plays it in slow motion. I'm sure it would be more helpful to actually watch it step by step, instead of watching the same step over and over! Other than that, these are all great apps for teaching the steps needed for certain things. Thank you!
My daughter loves the Wonkidos!
We LOVE the Wonkidos apps! The app consists of a cartoon video where special characters (the Wonkidos) help a young boy navigate through the steps of getting dressed. All of the Wonkidos apps consist of catchy songs and humor to help keep the child entertained while they learn. There is also a game that you can play to see what the child remembered. My daughter loves these apps and feels like she's watching a short cartoon while she is learning. No IAP or ads
