Professional Review
"Young children learn by exploration---seeing and doing things that are available to them. Progress in learning is a result of many experiences with both successes and failures at home, in school and the playground. Most learning in early childhood occurs in this way in safe, natural surroundings with guidance by parents and other adults.

The Wonkidos video series provides opportunities for young children to learn effective ways to negotiate common developmental challenges----potty training, getting dressed, playing with friends and more. The short, animated programs are engaging to kids because they are stories that are told from the child's perspective in an entertaining way. Sound developmental principles are written into the scripts to maximize learning. As they watch these video stories, children learn about their ability to make things happen in the family and with friends. Ultimately, it teaches them how to successfully use their new motor, language and social skills. The Wonkidos video series is an important contribution to early childhood learning."

Customer Reviews

Good visual for potty training

Mrs. Tempered Sunshine

I purchased this for my 5 year old son with autism.

Great animation, catchy song
The steps are repeated several times in an engaging way
My son really enjoys watching

Very wordy at the beginning, especially considering this is geared towards special needs children with language difficulties
Use of the phrase "baby diapers" feels like a shaming technique
The segment about public restroom signs seems advanced for kids who aren't using the bathroom indpendently yet. I think it's unneccessary and distracts from the overall independent toileting storyline.

But the cons are fairly minor nitpicks for an app that keeps my son engaged and enthusiastic about potty training.

Really engaging and beautiful graphics

My son with severe Autism has been bombarded with "potty training" videos and apps. This is the first app that he actually enjoys and chooses independently to watch. Considering a pack of Pull-ups is about $15, this app is a BARGAIN! Thanks for renewing his interest in potty training!

Not for typical autistic kids. You know the ones who like trains, balls, twigs, and all the lids off the condiments in the fridge.
