Stepping Stones is a simple and user-friendly app which allows you to quickly create visual guides or ‘Paths’, using your own photos.
Paths make great graphic organizers. You can outline daily routines and schedules or describe the steps of an event or activity. Paths also make great social stories.
Stepping Stones offers a clean and simple experience for children and adults who benefit from visual support, including those with developmental disabilities such as Autism, attention or auditory processing deficits, learning disabilities, or anxiety.
Visual supports such as Stepping Stones help to increase independence and flexibility, manage anxiety, teach essential life skills, and assist with sequential processing and time management.

Ratings and Reviews
New version Confusion.
This app used to be really useful for supported employment. I used it to help my clients understand the step they needed to take at work. I highly recommended it to every client in supported employment.
It has been a year since I used this tool and I just downloaded it. The new layout is not as user friendly as it was before! I have been swiping two fingers to the right (I tried every way and with all different fingers) and I am unable to make a new list than the ones already pre programed! I would really like to demonstrate this app the way I used to, but I cannot do that unless I am able to create new example lists. I will change my rating once this problem is fixed.
Also please make an iPad version. Most of my clients use iPads in their everyday life (either for communication or learning purposes) and this would be beneficial for them to have as a full screen app!
No User Friendly
It is very, very difficult to avoid getting stuck in an endless loop of directions (from which there is no escape). When you realize you hit the wrong thing, you have to then cycle through the ENTIRE tutorial before you can try again. The usefulness of the iPhone for visual scheduling comes from the ability to easily make changes and keep it up to date, which this app doesn't let you do. Once a path is made, it's made. Can't add to it, can't rearrange it. In many ways this is LESS functional and adaptable than the old school binder, clip art, Velcro system.
There are several more functional apps at low cost. Don't waste time/money here.
OK app but need to be able to rearrange order of items
This app provides some decent functionality. It does allow me to create visual to-do lists and routines, with pictures and audio. It does not allow me to reorder the steps. This makes the app rather inflexible. Life does in fact change, and I get frustrated when I have to re-take the pictures and make major changes to my “paths” just because I want to change the order. It is time consuming and irritating.
Update: I also want watch functionality please.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
