Fun but could be a lot better
Fun game for the most part. I like how it has many different modes and it gives you a scale for timing. But now let's get to the bad parts. I hated the fish casino ad. It took way too long.
I also didn't like that you had to pay 3 bucks to play the players in the "beat them all" mode. What I hated and the reason I deleted the app was when your player just stood there when the opponent served the ball more than two steps away from your person. Same thing at the net. When I would hit a cross court approach shot, my player didn't even bother to move to the down the line passing shot. Another thing is when my opponent would hit a short lob, my player would just wait there until the ball came to him instead of moving forward and attacking. He would just wait there and I could have easily hit a winner but instead I would get passed down the line because my crappy player would decide not to move the ball.
Has a good basis, but needs more.
I have played many games that involve tennis from the App Store. Although this is not the worst tennis game I've played it is not the best. Here are some positives: it provides a meter of whether or not you are hitting the ball too early or too late, it provides different game mode options, and the direction you swipe in is accurate to where the ball should go. The negatives are being forced to buy racquets with better quality in order to actually have fun, quality lies within the player not the racquet, and the meter tends to be tough to make an exact matchup for a perfect ball strike. I have somewhat fun playing with this app, but I wish I could have more fun. I know the creators want to make their money, but there has to be a better way.
A good start
Not shabby for a free/advertising game at all. A little more depth to the tennis strategy would be great, for instance a lob shot to force the opponent back off the net, certain opponents that have weaker backhands, forehands, left handed shots, or even that are worse at down the line serves, so you have to experiment each match. Add those features and I'd certainly be willing to pay to remove the adverts and add other features. Also it might be good if the direction of your swiping mattered a little bit more, easier to hit out of bounds, but then add in random unforced errors and double faults for the opponent to balance it out.
