Very good app with a major flaw

This app is great for getting started, and for the amazingly well-done digital face/talking technology.

I am now using DragonFrame as my main app, but still using Stop Motion Studio for the facial features.

Unfortunately I want to do my project in 4:3, the old TV aspect ratio, but no matter how I set the aspect ratio, the app *always* exports in 16:9. So if I want to keep using the digital faces, I am stuck with that aspect ratio, and at a lowly 1920x1080 because that's the only size that I've been able to reliably import and export without problems.

Lacking a critical feature

I purchased Stop Motion Studio Pro 2 because it seemed simple, adequite for what I needed to accomplish (i.e. amateur claymation), inexpensive, and compatible with my current hardware. I read the entire manual, and familiarized myself with the program. Unfortunately, the software did not seem to facilitate the level of quality and efficiency I needed when shooting a test scene to evaluate its lip-syncing capabilities.

My lip-sync process is to record the dialogue in Logic, import the files into the animation software, and film the shot in context to the aforementioned audio. Stop Motion Studio Pro 2 doesn't seem to allow the audio files to exist seperately from an image/frame. Therefore, I have to shoot a frame before I can even import the audio, and I can't move it around the timeline without a drawn out process of opening menus, deleting, and importing the file redundantly. Also, the scrub feature only works on images/frames (i.e. no audio).

While Stop Motion Studio Pro 2 is easy to learn and includes a number of cool features, its inability to import and manipuate audio before visually capturing the scene is crippling to my workflow and the quality of the final product.

bad interface

While a lot of things are easy to do in stop motion pro I found the interface pretty bad. E.g. I wanted to combine the seperate scenes I made into a single video. The tutorial video saya just cut and paste the frames you're interested in and add them to the overall project. Well, I have a lot frames in some of the individual projects so I assumed I could just "Select All" the frames, copy them, and add to the overeall project. Well I've been sitting here for 2 hours trying to figure out to do that. Firstly the Select All function in the Edit drop down is grayed out. Then when I select all the frames that are showing, and try to go to the next set, the first set are automatically deselected. So, e.g., out of 200 frmaes, I guess I'm supposed to select and copy about 20 frames (the ones that are showing in the bottom window)), go out to the overall project and paste them, then repeat this procerss 10 times !?!? That's pretty brain dead, and in searching many many tutorials I could find nothing suggesting any way around this.
