What's New in Version 3.0
It only took 3 months but thank u Finally!!!
Update: it took forever but finally I can play my favorite game of all time :)
The game is great, brings back alot of memories, I bought the updated version and I haven't had any problems, runs just like it on the genesis. Only reason I gave it 4 out of 5 is because no multiplayer and the button layout could of been a little better. Other than that the game is excellent and its just how it was when it came out in 91.
Needs a lot of work
This game is a classic, but needs a lot of work on iOS.
The iOS version of Streets of Rage appears to be a copy of the original game ROM running in some kind of ARM-compatible wrapper with a native iOS front end. I'm really not a fan of this front end…it has no fluid feel to it and looks rather hokey for being developed by a professional game studio like Sega. The performance of this game on an iPhone 4 is abysmal. The music, sounds and video continually slow down and speed up as if the emulation engine is not accounting for additional emulated CPU load and changing the skip on the frame rate accordingly.
I really don't understand how this game can be rated 4.5 stars with so many underlying design and performance issues that remain.
I believe Christian Whitehead has proven that the Genesis/Sega CD can be emulated perfectly on much lesser hardware than what is in the iPhone 4. If you don't believe me, grab a copy of Sonic CD and see how well it runs on an iPhone 4.
THIS GAME BRINGS BACK MEMORIES!!!
This is one of the Sega games that I played as a kid all the time along with several other Sega Genesis games! This is definitely an overall good port to iOS. The only thing that I noticed was that the controls need to be tightened up just a touch so that they respond better when pressed. Thus doesn't make the game not playable by any means whatsoever! They just need a slight tweak to be perfect. You will see what I mean once you play the game. I will give this 5stars as soon as that's fixed. Thank you for this great classic port for iOS!! DEFINITELY WORTH A DOLLAR!!!
