Everyone has experienced changes in heart rate before taking an exam, giving a public speech, or when exercising. Not only does your heart rate increase, but the amount of time between consecutive heart beats changes as well. By measuring heart rate variability (HRV) using your iPhone's built-in camera, you can estimate your level of stress in just two minutes wherever you are!
Top athletes across the globe are using HRV to track their fatigue and recovery to maximize performance. Whether you're a runner, biker, swimmer, or weightlifter, Stress Check will help you optimize your workouts day after day.
Stress Check utilizes a method of quantitative stress level assessment developed by Biocom Technologies, a well-known developer of various professional health assessment technologies. Our HRV algorithms follow recommendations of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) and the North American Society of Pacing and Electrophysiology (NASPE).

What's New in Version 1.3
Too small range
The app appears to work well, in that it really is measuring the pulse and doing real math to determine some measure of how 'stressed' you are, i.e. it's not just some fraud, rather it is based on some math/science. However, I have the problem that I have gotten a score of 1%, i.e. perfectly relaxed, 3 out of the 4 times I've measured, including my first attempt …. my friend got a score of 2% first time trying as well (while two other friends did return higher scores).
I was hoping to use this to for example test what kinds of meditations/relaxation techniques would work best to produce the lowest stress / de-stress me … but I'm not sure what use it can be if I find it so easy to hit 1% without even really doing any meditation. i.e. I'd like the bottom end of the scale to not be at 'my normal somewhat relaxed state' but rather to extend down to 'zen bhudda state' …. I imagine it should be possible to make it handle this use-case with like an option of a wider range or some such thing, in which case would be happy to give it more stars.
Extreme at any number
This appears to be a pretty cool idea executed poorly. After on takes their stress check it records the first one and allows you to save it with a note. The second one you take hours later finishes and give you a new score but in my case it was 23 and was still extreme. My first use was 63 and extreme. I don't think there is anything other than extreme. Also it always says saved after the first use. Pointless if nothing changes how can one log a history and look for patterns. This definitely does not perform the way it is claimed with an intelligent learning type engine. Maybe next time folks. Don't buy this version.
Potential for improvement
There's an annoying thing that happens when I select to look at my timeline. It does not allow me to see the list because a pop up window comes up asking me my preferred method to log in & share data (Email, Facebook or Twitter). If I choose the option to do this later, it takes me to the menu screen, so I never see my timeline. The stupid thing about it is that in the settings I show as already logged in to Azumio!!
