“It actually makes your smart things smarter and it’s a really cool way to integrate IoT into your daily life.” – Huffington Post
The award-winning Stringify app connects your smart home, wearable devices, and services to create powerful automated experiences. Stringify is the only automation platform built specifically for the Internet of Things (IoT).
Easily create and add powerful Flows that automate your life. For example:
- Secure your home and save money when you go to bed by automatically locking your front door, closing your garage, turning down your temperature and turning off the lights.
- Automatically jumpstart every morning with the traffic report playing over your connected speaker, your lights fading on and thermostat set to just the right temperature.
- Setup family dinner time by tapping a button to instantly pause devices on your XFINITY xFi network and dim the lights to 60%...
To get started, we’ve included a starter kit of Flows that you can add in a few easy steps. Discover more of the best experiences by browsing collections covering Safety, Entertainment, Fitness, Family, Work, Social, Work and Driving with more coming all the time. You can even connect your friends and family inside a Flow to share in the fun. And when you make a Flow your own, its easy to share with others via text, Email, social and more.

Ratings and Reviews
They’ve been bought by Comcast.
I’ve had this app for a while now. It has been fairly useful. My rating is for the app itself. However, they have just been bought by Comcast. I HATE Comcast. They have terrible customer service. All they new hype the Stringify people are trying to create is only based around Comcast based features. As I do not have Comcast, the “update” is nothing more than a SLIGHT visual upgrade. I found this app useful for some things (though I recommend Workflow and IFTTT so much more.) I can’t help but think I might delete this app solely because they sold out to a terrible company. If the next “update” doesn’t have actual, useful feature updates (to EVERYONE not just Comcast customers) I will delete this app forever. I don’t know why they allowed a Comcast to assimilate them, but I think it was a bad decision. I hope you stringy people read this and know that this user is disappointed.
Love the app, but still some evolution needed
The app works fairly well, although I have had a couple of instances where I could not use it at all because it didn't have a connection to the internet. The only other issue is the limits on the Things you can work with. More links to more apps like MS Office, iOS (email, message app, and calendar), would be very helpful.
I do love the ability to create more nuanced and complex Flows, which IFTTT doesn't do. Like having a countdown timer that goes off a couple hours later, with a message, while also confirming that you did in fact launch the Flow with another short timer that sends a notification a few seconds after you start the Flow. I have not used it as much as I think I could, but hope to use it where it can help me save time or improve something that I do manually today.
Solution to TONS of smart home projects
I’m a big tinkerer. I often love finding out if I *can* do something more than I love actually *doing* that something. Smart home tricks are almost addicting to me. I’ve explored dozens and dozens of options; hubs, devices, interfaces. More often than not, Stringify has ended up being my answer when I come up with another trick I want up my sleeve.
The magic comes from the ability to control multiple devices in a sequenced flow. It introduces linearity to smart home functions. This sort of temporal control is very hard to achieve elsewhere, nonetheless in a simple, intuitive, graphical interface. Any missing functionality can often be brought in via IFTTT integration, or maker web hooks.
Stringify isn’t without its issues. However, the team is very willing to help you out, whether on the forums or via email. It’s a powerful feature set that will require a bit of learning, no matter how intuitive the process may be.
The acquisition by Comcast makes me nervous, but I’m told by said Stringify team we can expect to enjoy Stringify as we have prior to the acquisition for the foreseeable future, which was a huge relief!! Please don’t change that, Comcast!
Overall, in love with Stringify!!
