Works Fine for Me
I honestly don't know what the whingeing is about, it works fine, no registration prompts, nothing (I might've uncheck a small box on the popup window, but I forget). Extremely simple design and easy to use, and it does what it says it will, expand files. I've been using it for a number of years and haven't felt that I'm missing out on anything. I would recomend this app to anyone who just wants to unzip those stray far files that float around, or any of the other weird formats that aren't supported by Archive Utility.
Newest version = "Corruptgrade"
I've been using this program for years, and I've always been happy with it. I can no longer say that. The newest release (Oct. 1, 2012) claims to have better support for RAR files, but in fact it won't recognize them at all now. Apple's on-board Archive program works fine on ZIPs, and I rarely encounter SIT fles any more, so RARs is all I have this program for any more, and it won't even do that. So now my question is, why should I bother with StuffIt? I've downloaded another free extractor that does the job just as well.
its a great app
I read all the buzz about Stuffit not detecting .rar files and stuff … I almost didnt download that app cuz of all those reviews … still I decided to give it a shot since a friend reccommended this app highly. I got to say … for me this app works perfectly. I am using Mountain Lion and I have no complaints at all about this app!! Good Job Stuffit developer team!
