Sub Video Player for iPad

By Red Kawa Inc.

Description

Sub Video Player lets you watch your MKV and Xvid videos (passed through Sub Video Maker) anywhere you want, with no internet connection required. With our free Sub Video Maker desktop software you can very quickly make playable files from most MKV (like x264, 480p, 720p, 1080p, anime), Xvid (like divx, hdtv) or standard MP4 files. Sub Video Player uses hardware acceleration to play your videos which allows your iPad’s battery life to last much longer compared to other software based video player apps.

Sub Video Player supports SRT subtitles, Advanced SubStation Alpha subtitles, custom fonts, chapters and multiple subtitle tracks when using Sub Video Maker.

Download the Sub Video Maker free from our website:
http://subvideoplayer.com

Copying videos from your desktop to your iPad can be done easily using the iTunes File Sharing feature. Click on your device in iTunes once it is connected, click the “Apps” tab from the top menu and scroll to the bottom of the page to see the “File Sharing” section.

The Sub Video Maker software creates playable videos without touching the original video stream and converting the audio stream only when absolutely necessary. This process allows you to create iPad playable videos anywhere from 10x – 100x faster than converting videos normally to MP4 format. Since the video stream is untouched, there is no loss in video quality when creating a playable video. Sub Video Maker will also copy over any chapters, fonts or Advanced SubStation Alpha subtitles found in your MKV files making it great to play any Anime MKV files you have.

Worth the money

The only things that are missing are the zoom feature (as mentioned in another post) and non-English subtitle support. Unless I'm missing it, it seems to only display English subtitles. That, or the subtitles I have need to be in a different format. So far, I haven't had any problems getting mkvs to display perfect subtitles in English, but when I try Korean subtitles in .smi format they don't show up opnce I transfer over the files.

AVIs take a bit longer than MKVs, but it's still quicker than converting to h264 and then converting to the "ipad compatible" format. How much quicker? I did about 15 episodes in about 20 minutes. Quality is exactly like the quality of the original file, no loss in the repackaging. Best $4.99 I've spent on the iPad so far!

It's the BEST!

As everyone else has said, after trying several apps and going thru the trouble of trying to convert mkvs, this has been a godsend. I've tried oplayer, yxplayer, the vlc player, but this is the best solution. Easy to use conversion software, minimal conversion time, and the results are crystal clear. This is the cornerstone app in my iPad now. Worth every penny.

Needs Ipad 2 dual core support!

Just bought this app and was excited because unlike the other mkv players, this one was able to read all the subs for my episodes. but, the converter they offer totally puts the video and audio off sync. Why not update this app for dual core? I feel like this app has no support at all being updated in November and it already being May. you need an update before you get a better rating.
