The SUBARU STARLINK app works as a gateway to bring added content, such as Internet radio, weather, news, and more to your Subaru in-vehicle multimedia system. When new content becomes available, your STARLINK system is updated automatically and content is pushed to your screen in real-time. Available in all 2016 and later Subaru models. Also available on selected 2015 models. Please note that the STARLINK app must be started on your smartphone before you connect or pair it to your Subaru.
What's New in Version 1.2.1
This version has fixed some minor bugs.
The interface and commands are not modern, intuitive or user friendly. The Aha and Pandora apps function more efficiently than this. STARLINK doesn't connect or load properly. The reason is it's designed internally in house whereas the other two are not. I am a Subaru sales consultant. I am embarrassed to mention this as part of new car delivery.
Still annoyed with this app
I've owned several Subarus and love them. However for the love of Pete will you please fix the phone-car connection!! This has been BROKEN for years. While the new system is better it still has a long way to go. Why would I pay for a GPS system on this app when the other car makers just sync with the phone for free. Whomever leads this division needs to be fired-this isn't rocket science. Since all the older reviews have disappeared let me restate what hundreds of people have already said, PLEASE FIX THIS APP!!! Perhaps the next Subaru I buy I'll have to negotiate a reduction in price to have this primitive system taking out so I can have a different one installed afterwards. SUBARU PLEASE LISTEN TO YOUR CUSTOMERS AND FIX THE APP!!
This app is dangerous. Do not use it.
One of these days somebody's going to be killed while fiddling with this app, and Subaru will be sued for millions. The starlink system, which includes this app, is constantly disconnecting my phone and switching from Bluetooth to dock connector. Half of the time my phone answers through the iPhone itself rather than through the starlink system. This forces me to fiddle with the phone as well as the infotainment system in order to hear my call or or to make a call. When Aha is loaded, it takes over Starlink whether you want it to or not. Then it's nearly impossible to switch out of Aha. This requires more fiddling to reach the music or service that you want. Also, the Bluetooth connection to my phone is intermittently dropped. This then requires a complete re-sync with the phone which takes over a minute. And the voice recognition system isn't useful for anything except for causing car crashes.
