If your work or play requires sunlight, Sun Scout is built for you. Turn your iPhone in to a magic lens. Point it at the sky to understand where the sun will be and when it will be there.
Sun Scout uses your device's compass. For best results, calibrate your iPhone's compass, even when your phone does not prompt you to do so. Check out this video to see how: http://j.mp/compass-calibration
Important note: Like all compasses, Sun Scout is adversely influenced by metal in vehicles and buildings. Sun Scout is only as good as the iPhone's compass and is prone to a variable margin of accuracy even under fair conditions. Do not base high-value production decisions solely on Sun Scout. Confirming them using sun charts and a technical scouting mission during the time of day of a future shoot.
romano01, US App Store – "This app has come in handy more then once this week alone. While working on a feature film called "fairhaven" the gaffer and I (key Grip) needed to find out where and when the sun would be for a scene… well after i pulled out my Sun Scout App. everyone started downloading it!!! It is well worth it."
WPSHM, US App Store – "This should win a gajillion awards for usability and simplicity. I love it!!!!"

OS 9 killed it
This app has been a great help in the past but after updating my iPhone to 6s from my old 5 , the app will not work .
Should I delete it & reinstall? Will I be charged again?
Death by OS9
This app was outstanding in all respects on my old iPhone 5. Since that phone died and I switched to a 6, the app is a complete joke. Nothing about it works; time to throw it away. Sad-- this app kept us from making some costly mistakes on video and photo shoots back in the days when it worked. Can anyone recommend an alternative?
Outdated … No Longer Works
This app was fine but no longer works in OS9. There is no support nor any way to get in touch with the developer to know if an update is coming or if it has been discontinued.
