We’ve been keeping busy! On the menu today we have more apps and a couple of cool improvements just for you.

New Apps - Basecamp and Meetup

Seems like we just can’t stop adding apps. Today, we’re introducing Basecamp and Meetup in the great family of Sunrise apps. This means no more forgotten events, missed deadlines, or unfinished todos. They’ll all be right here in Sunrise. Open the app now to connect these apps from the Settings.

Improvements on Status and Reminders

We’ve also got to work on better controls of your free or busy status. So that’s that. And we’ve improved triggered reminders - afraid you’ll forget one? We’re now keeping them safely in the Notification Center until you actually open the Sunrise app to see what’s happening.

Any questions? Shoot us an email at support@sunrise.am. Or come say hi on Twitter @sunrise. We’ll share the latest news with you right there.

Great! Could be better with a few things

I love the interface of Sunrise. It's become my primary calendar app. I was strictly using Fantastical for a long time, but the editor view, the day view, and the event icons totally sold me on Sunrise. The big thing I'd like to see is an option to show colored dots on days when you have events in specific calendars. Currently there's only a small gray dot. Because I use my calendar for everything, it doesn't tell me anything that there's a dot on a specific day, as I have events every day. So being able to quickly tell when I have events on what days would be great. The only other thing I can think of that would make it better would be the option to pinch to zoom on day view, like the native calendar app allows. So you can see more or less of your days. Overall really excellent app though! One of the most used ones on my iPhone for sure.

Love this app overall, needs a few tweaks

Sunrise is definitely much better than the built in iOS calendar app. I love how I can combine my exchange, iCloud, and multiple Google calendars pretty seamlessly. The interface is attractive and easy to use. Only a couple of problems I would like to see fixed: I don't receive event invitations inside Sunrise for my linked Google calendars, and even though I have background refresh set to push and a five minute set schedule in cases where pushed does not work, when I open sunrise my new event invitations still have to be manually sent by clicking on the Sunrise button and waiting for her to refresh. I contacted Support about the first issue but haven't received a reply…

Sunrise is great, better than iCal

I came from using iCal in a corporate environment and wanted to see if there was anything better when I left. I use the calendar across my MacBook and my phone, and wanted good syncing and a good user experience on both. I downloaded Sunrise based on reviews, and it has been great. I really like the UI options for viewing the calendar on the phone, the floating Today button, and the little icons that change based on meeting type. The only weird thing is that the location information isn't immediately populated, it seems to be filled in later, but it has never caused a problem. Go Sunrise! Amazing for a free app!
