Description

The SunTrust Mobile App is optimized for your Apple device and is specifically designed to provide quick and secure access to your personal accounts. You can make payments, transfers, and mobile deposits, view account balances and account activity, as well as search for ATM / branch locations. To get started, download and launch the app. Then sign on with your SunTrust Digital Banking User ID and Password. It’s that simple.

ACCOUNT ACCESS
-View your personal account balances quickly without signing on
-View your personal account balances for Checking, Savings, Credit Cards, Lines of Credit, Access 3, Installment Loans, Mortgages and select SunTrust Investments Services, Inc. accounts
-View summary information for, CDs, and IRAs

Limited amount you can deposit is frustrating

While closing or closest local branch and pushing us customers toward digital delivery of retail banking services, I am sure SunTrust is finding this a much cheaper operating environment for the bank a.k.a more profitable for them. However, it is very frustrating to have a limit on how much can be deposited with the mobile banking. This means we have to drive much further to make a deposit (our time and money) that could have been made digitally. I am a former employee and an account holder for over 50 years! So now I am thinking about looking else where for a bank more progressive and flexible. We aren't young people and I am certain those that are don't have half the patience with these kind of issues that I have given the "relationship" and my age.

I’m in quite a pickle

Have rarely had issues with mobile deposit. I get paid via personal check every week. It’s always around the same amount. This week they held it. For a full week. I called hoping they could at least give me a reason, something to avoid (was the picture not clear, did my signature look off) but nothing. Aside from mobile deposit that may or may not work, the app has sooooo many maintenance periods. I went to LA recently and had to call almost every time I wanted to check my balance (I would blame time difference but it was never odd hours). In the future: at least tell us why the app is down. It’s down for hours a day with no explanation. Give a reason checks haven’t cleared. (I’ll just go back to rushing to the bank after work to be safe)

Exactly when is the service running?

I find myself wondering that age old question “Should I consider switching banks?” occasionally, and nothing makes me wonder more than opening the app and finding that the service “is temporarily shut down for maintenance”.

At any given time of day, mostly when I need a quick look at my balance before I go to work, before I go to lunch, before I pick up my kids from school after noon, before I go shopping in the late evening, or before I go to sleep to assess the damage.

More often than not, for the past couple months, this app has been inaccessible! 8/10 times I cannot view my bank statement, and I am forced to either to not know or go through a web browser. Now I know that sound lazy, but I have a busy, on-the-fly sort of life style; it’s just the nature of the beast when you have kids, a spouse and well... a life. I don’t have time to remember a password or more or less get it right every single time I need to look up what I have.

I used to get handy messages in the morning telling me my balance but, hah, I don’t even get THAT any more.

Anyway, this app would be handy if it WORKED. 😒

Don’t waste the space, just use your browser for this crap.
