The SunTrust Mobile App is optimized for your Apple device and is specifically designed to provide quick and secure access to your personal accounts. You can make payments, transfers, and mobile deposits, view account balances and account activity, send money via Zelle®, as well as search for ATM / branch locations. To get started, download and launch the app. Then sign on with your SunTrust Digital Banking User ID and Password. It’s that simple.

Mobile app good when available

I have been a Suntrust customer for several years and aside from financial accounts I also have a mortgage with them. The Suntrust mobile app has been much improved in the last couple of years and does allow full online access to my banking accounts with bill pay ability and remote deposit. However the app works very well when it is accessible. Almost every weekend, definitely Fridays and usually Sundays, the app is usually not available for use. Not only is the app unavailable but the online banking site is also unavailable for use during these times. The only way to obtain balances, make transfers or make any payments (which I’ve never done) is through their telephone access. It can be frustrating because it’s either telephone or physically go to the bank or an ATM which defeats the purpose of a mobile app.

Limited amount you can deposit is frustrating

While closing or closest local branch and pushing us customers toward digital delivery of retail banking services, I am sure SunTrust is finding this a much cheaper operating environment for the bank a.k.a more profitable for them. However, it is very frustrating to have a limit on how much can be deposited with the mobile banking. This means we have to drive much further to make a deposit (our time and money) that could have been made digitally. I am a former employee and an account holder for over 50 years! So now I am thinking about looking else where for a bank more progressive and flexible. We aren't young people and I am certain those that are don't have half the patience with these kind of issues that I have given the "relationship" and my age.

Search feature


First of all, the app works very well and makes life so much easier. I understand it’s not a complete replacement to using the Suntrust website, but for me it’s pretty close. The biggest gripe I have is the lack of search functionality within an account. Something as simple as being able to search on a few characters to find a credit or debit quickly by the name would be huge. And honestly this should be there already. Filtering by date or check number is the only option. Imagine hunting for that one charge from a few months ago when u don’t know the date or if it was even charged? This should be an easy feature to add and would greatly increase the usability of the app.
