Don't listen to the negative reviews
What happens when a game gives a few levels for free? People download it and give awful reviews without trying the full game!
You get 3 levels for free but 24 for the whole game. Of course, this is just at launch, it's likely we'll get more. Even so, each level has three sets of special coins to collect, making each one replayable up to three times. Each time you collect a set of coins you get 2 toad tickets (total of 18 from the free levels), each time you clear a world you get 10 tickets, and you can build various buildings in your kingdom to generate more tickets (yes, even before you pay for the full game). These tickets are used to play the race mode to compete against other players, which nets you more toads for your kingdom (allowing you to build more buildings) and coins (to buy said buildings). In the full game you won't run out of tickets. I have 99 almost always (which is the cap). There's a lot of replayability, people are just cheap and assume the content is limited because they didn't play the full game. Also worth mentioning, every time you clear a world you add all those levels to the multiplayer mode, so it has a lot of variety. Overall if you like Mario, this is worth a purchase. Yeah there's other options but this is still a pretty meaty game and honestly, $10 is not that much if you're gonna get a lot of time out of a game.
Most polished one-touch game, ever!
For a game that relies on (only) tapping and timing and Mario runs on his own, this plays surprisingly well and feels very much like Super Mario gaming. Paid the $10 and very happy with my purchase! Yep, it's different than the games where you control Mario to the full extent, AND it's supposed to be AND it works, as in it's fun, entertaining and very frustrating at times. That's part of what makes it really feel like a Mario game for me - the frustration. I get frustrated playing the same levels repeatedly obsessively trying to get all 5 pink coins and it reminds me of all the frustration I've experienced with every Mario game whether it be just trying to clear a particularly difficult level or going back for those extras. My timing has never been outstanding, so I end up playing levels over and over and over until I get it just right and that's been my history with all Mario games and so this truly does feel like a Mario game and aside from the frustration, I do keep coming back for more, so I'm enjoying it plenty!
And no, I don't think $10 is too much for what the game is. It has to be the most polished game I've ever played on iOS. It even plays flawlessly on my old 2011 iPhone 4S (just longer load times) and how many modern iOS games can boast that? The devs did an excellent job bringing an experience to iOS worthy of being called Super Mario and I'm grateful for it.
Solid game and fun to play!
I have to say that you guys make great games even for mobile devices! Seeing previews to this game made me concerned that it would be too similar to Geometry Dash and The Impossible Game. After buying the full version and playing all the levels, it is not as similar as what I thought it would be! It felt like I was playing a regular Mario adventure game which was the obvious goal of this game! Having played almost every Mario game, I must say this is right next to Super Mario World in terms of fun gameplay! I was a little disappointed as I was expecting it to be much more difficult than it was, but I think getting the special coins sort of made up for that. I really enjoyed the Toad Rallies as well! I have reached the toad limit of 9999 and am working on getting 2500 green toads which is last thing I need to do to have every item for building my kingdom! I have really enjoyed playing this game as it was a great way to spend my Christmas break away from college. I think what would make this game even better is that there should be a level editor like in Super Mario Maker. Lots of people these days are really fond of creating things especially for video games (myself included)! I myself am interested to see what I can create and it will honestly keep me addicted for at least another year! Consider adding a level editor if you choose to update this game! Other than that, I have really enjoyed playing! Cheers!
