What's New in Version 1.0.5
Episode 5 Update!
This pinball game is both cute and challenging. Nice graphics, smooth action, and easy system. I've only played the first five levels and I'm hooked. I hope I can unlock them all!
I like the 3-star achievement goal per level: pretty much like Angry Birds, etc. where time and lives remaining contribute to number of stars earned. I like to play each level until I get all 3 stars before moving on to the next. So far as I can tell, you get three lives per play. Each time a bacteria/virus gets past the flippers (which they call the fence), you lose 1 life. Lose three and it's game over. Besides enemy bacteria, there are good ones, too: for extra lives, coins, etc. Seems like a good balance of strategy, challenge and fun.
I'm playing on an iPad 1st gen. The only thing I don't like so far is that sometimes my thumbs get out of the flipper zone--like too close to the edge of the screen--so sometimes a bacteria ball gets through even though I'm tapping the screen. I think the ergonomics need a bit more work; maybe options for flipper buttons (closer to the corners/sides or custom locations).
One other recommendation I have is, when placing a new mushroom, action should stop and fade from 0-100% within about 3 seconds to allow for the user's hand to get back to the side of the iPad. This may not be an issue for iPad mini or iPhones, but it makes for a difficult maneuver on the full size device. Maybe there could be a custom option for this, too.
It's interesting how you guys mixed pinball and tower defense. So far I'm enjoying playing the game quite often. It's very entertaining and I especially like how everything can be upgraded. However I do NOT like how much gold it costs for these upgrades, especially considering how much gold you get every time you pass a level. Sometimes when I want to upgrade something I find myself playing the same few missions quite a few times to earn enough gold for the aforementioned upgrade, the only alternative is to use cash to buy the gold. If you do that though it kinda defeats the purpose of the game, if you can afford to buy the gold then you can have max upgrades at the beginning, making the game loose its challenge. Anyways the game is fun and challenging, and will continue to be so, until you start buying gold. Then it looses most of its challenge but I guess it would still be fun and entertaining.
Great game but has sum BUGS!
A few major issues. Episode 2, board 36. Crashes every time I get halfway through this level, 5 times in a row this has happened. Also, occasionally the bacteria simply stop falling entirely = dead game. Third, occasionally a bacteria will sit atop a boulder and stay there. If its the only bacteria on the board, another dead game. It is also conspicuously missing some music and sound FX. I've seen several other reviews that mention the exact same kind of crashes I have seen in episode 2, when the pipe mushroom disappears then the game crashes. I also agree it is a bit of a grind to get enough gold, upgrading takes TOO long.
THAT BEING SAID. I LOVE this game! Fix the bugs and this game gets 5 stars! And I LOVE the voices they are adorable. I hope the developers fix the bugs soon because I want to play this game MORE but CAN'T because it keeps crashing!!
