Description

The game principal is well known from Master Mind: Behind a cover there is a secret code consisting of four colors. To detect it, you need a little bit luck and good combinational skill.

In each row try four colors. When you have done so, your trial will be rated: For every correctly set color you get a black pin, for every right color on the wrong position you get a white one.

So you know, how many correct colors you've found, but not which colors and on which position! Try different colors and combine the result to finally find the secret code!

Train your mind with this entertaining game!

It's OK, but could use some improvements

This is a decent, and nice looking implementation of the MasterMind game. As a previous reviewer mentioned, the look brings back memories from my youth of playing this game. And unlike in the 1970s, you don't need to find a friend/sibling/parent to perform the thankless task of setting the black/white pegs for you with each guess. :-)

The one thing that detracted from playability is the UI for setting the colors. You click on a peg and it will cycle to the next color. (Tip: Shift-clicking will cycle to the previous color). This means that you need to click up to 5 times on a peg to set its color. I think it would have been nicer (and more intuitive) to present a popover window of 6 colors when you click on a peg.

Another nit: the app is called SuperMind, but there are a few references to "SuperBrain" in the app (the app menu says "About SuperBrain" and the Help page is titled "SuperBrain Help").

I like it, but liked its predecessor better

I'd played this game's predecessor - SuperBrain - for a few years and really enjoyed it. That older game, though, doesn't work on Lion; so I was happy to see a newer rendition on the App Store. I like the game play but I HATE the sound effects - and there's apparently no way to turn them off! I dislike the sound enough to ding this two stars (3 instead of 5).

If you like the old board game Mastermind, you'll like this game too - but I suspect you'll be hitting the mute button whenever you launch this game. I know I will be!

My Review

Please, only four us easy to a true logical mind. Let the user have more place holers. Another things, please let the user, I, send a result that has an empty place holder. Both of those, and fixings some visuals uses, one of the greatest applications on the market to be - at least for the smarter people. Ultimately creating more money for you. I see it as a win & win (archery reference) either or argument.
