Surface Surf Forecast & Waves has been created specifically for use with Apple Watch.
Use Surface to keep your watch up to date with latest forecasts from around the world.
Ability to track your surfs and health data. Integration of your surf workouts with Apple's Health and Activity apps means that your surfs will be displayed with key health metrics such as heart rate, paddles, distance covered and energy burned.
Wave Tracker - track and view each wave. Use Apple Watch and its GPS ability to track your waves. Inbuilt built sensors in addition to GPS data contribute to an algorithm to detect when you are surfing. Wave data is sent back to your phone with your workouts automatically.
Some features of the Surf Track functionality will not be available on the Apple Watch Series 1. Although you will still be able to create surfs with the Apple Watch Series 1, you are not advised to take an Apple Watch Series 1 into the surf. Only take an Apple Watch Series 2 into the surf for creation with Surface Surf Forecast and Health. Also note that use of GPS Wave Tracker can have an impact on the battery life.
Purchase Surface Pro to unlock a growing list of over 40 themes and unlock an ability to store up to 15 locations for quick selection.
Be sure to add Surface to the watch dock and set Surface as your watch complications.
Enjoy the convenience of glancing at current and forecasted surf information, no clicks and no fuss. With a stunningly beautiful interface design, this complex information is quickly and easily understood.
You can select a spot anywhere on the globe, and it is advised to choose an 'indicator' spot, that gives you the best results for your desired wave.

Ratings and Reviews
Has potential but not reliable
Could be a great app if it functioned as designed. Same problem as others that it won’t stop tracking after pressing the stop button. Even worse, the last two sessions don’t track waves. No wave count on the watch and the iphone app (on the map) indicates ‘wave data unavailable’. Tracks strokes and energy used well buy this is supposed to track surfing. The Apple app can track swimming and energy burned. Hopefully these issues can be worked out but seems like the technology still isn’t there for these surf apps on the Apple Watch.
Not quite there.
On a scale of KookSlams to Kelly Slater this is in between. It only tracked 4/6 waves in a session even though they were long at a reef break. The data is cool, integrates well, and is a fun novelty, but there has to be better tracking. Not to mention the cool data of the paddling distance got lost somewhere. I was at 2 miles and it says .03. Unless that is wave distance ridden but it can’t be because the map shows longer than that. So I give it 5 stars for fun, but 3 for functionality.
Promising! Keep up the good work.
Just logged my first session with my series 3 watch and it seemed to accurately log both time, distance, paddles, and waves. Wish I could share to social sites, but overall this seems like the best surf app I’ve found so far!
