Promising game

Overall, I've really enjoyed this game. Having to get specific resources is a nice twist on the basic "match 3" type of game. There are really only two things that have held me back from a 5-star rating. First, it would be nice if it actually kept track of your high scores. Second, and this is more of a warning than a game error, it can be very aggravating when all of the customers orders all require one specific ingredient and that ingredient refuses to appear on the screen. Fortunately, when that does happen, there really isn't much consequence if you fail a round, as long as you didn't burn through a lot of sake in the process.

Unique blend of matching 3 type and time management

The game is easy to play but gets increasingly difficult over time. Despite the lack of a good game soundtrack or nicer graphics, the game succeeds at getting one hooked on first the matching ingredients, then on correctly combining the right ones for specific recipes. The game should be less than a dollar, in my opinion, but while waiting for Youda sushi chef to find its way to the iPhone/iPod touh, i'll just have my quick sushi fix thanks to Sushi Mayhem.

Poor value

The gameplay is fun, but I beat the game very quickly (more quickly than any game I've downloaded) the first time through and scores are not saved, so there is not even replay satisfaction in trying to beat previous scores (for levels and overall). As a previous reviewer stated, the game is frustrating when every recipe calls for cucumber and there are few cucumbers appearing on the screen that level and the game doesn't adjust for the disproportionate ingredients needed. Nevertheless, the game was still easy, but game frustration should come from your ability (or lack thereof) and not what I consider to be a flaw in the programming. For now, I feel like I wasted my money ($2.99). I hope there is a free update soon.
