Swahili Clock is a simple clock to teach you how to tell time in Swahili. The Swahili method of telling time revolves around sunset and sunrise, resulting in a time-system with a roughly six hour difference from Western clocks.

Does one thing extremely well!
This app only does one thing. Many people won't be interested in that one thing. But for those who are, it does that one thing with elegance: it teaches how to tell time in Swahili.
Learning to tell time in Swahili isn't as straightforward as in most other languages. The day starts at 6 AM instead of midnight, for just one example. So having a clock display not only the correct time, but also provided the written way to describe that time is a valuable tool. You just keep it open as your clock and you begin to learn quickly by repetition.
While this app is excellent the way it is, it could be improved slightly. Having a tap on word lexicon would be nice--tap on "dakika" for pop up meaning (minutes), for example. Also, having the date displayed (day, month, as in Friday, August thirty one) would add to its functionality.
I highly recommend this simple app if you're trying to learn Swahili. I hope the developers will continue to improve this app and write others for those of us interested in the not-so-popular languages.
Simple, creative, well done good idea
This is a beautiful app.
As a language educator, I appreciate simple, effective and creative educational ideas, and this one is well executed. This is the kind of thing I will use often rather than getting a kick out of for a short time and then forget about. Will be looking for other apps from this studio.
