SWAP The Matrix is a puzzle game that is easy to understand and play. There are "buttons" on a board, some are lighted up, some are dim. Tap on a lighted button will make it dim and vice versa. The objective is to turn off all the lights. But the catch is, tap on a button will also trigger all the top/bottom and left/right buttons surrounding it.
The overall graphics are great. There are 5 themes altogether, but you don't choose which one to use. The different designs are spread throughout, rotating among the levels. Background music is nice, but you have no separate control to turn it off if you want only sound effects. This may be a problem in some situation, where the music became very loud when you increase the volume to hear the sound effects.
There are a total of 115 levels. First level is a tutorial. When you start on 2nd level, you are given 6 hints to use. Clearing every level will earn you 1 hint. The issue with this game is that the levels don't necessary get more difficult as you progress. Once you understand the logic, it's possible to clear all levels in less than 2 hours, using only a few hints throughout. Most levels may make you feel repetitive after a while. The bonus is that there are 15 extra levels to unlock progressively. These are the more difficult levels and you cannot use hints at all.
If you like puzzles, SWAP The Matrix is still worth the fun moment for its 99 cents price point.
Fun puzzler with great graphic style
At it's current price point of $.99, this game is a steal for puzzle fans. And unlike many logic puzzlers, it has a sophisticated & attractive puzzle graphic style, with wonderful music.
It's not an unknown concept--your goal in each level is to turn all the lights off. Each light toggles on and off as you click it, and in turn affects those around it. What elevates it from similar games are two things: 1) it's executed with great polish and 2) it's integrated with Open Feint achievements. There are also no annoying timers or limits on the number of moves.
Highest recommendations to anyone who enjoys logic puzzle games.
Beautiful graphics and animations and an atmospheric soundtrack that sets the mood for the game. This is a perfect pick-up-and-play game for anyone who likes puzzle-type games. Definitely worth more than the price because it is a very polished game. Highly recommended.
