The Swimming Coach's Clipboard allows coaches and spectators to time and track splits of multiple athletes across events in any race, meet or workout. This clipboard of results can be stored, printed, e-mailed and/or retrieved for later review or reference.
Gone are the days of damp paper, pencil and multiple stopwatches. With the Swimming Coach's Clipboard, a few touches retrieve athletes from an internal database; events and associated splits are quickly dialed; and a running printout tracks splits as swimmers do their turns.
Swimming Coach's Clipboard allows Coaches to setup all swimmers for all events prior to a meet and then load them with a tap of a button.
Events are selected using the fast/fun picker (spin) control. Predefined race distances include all standard metric and yard distances between 25 yards and 1 Mile meters; free, back, breast, fly and medley strokes; free and medley relays; and gender support (boys, girls, men, women, mixed)
--> Springboard (1m & 5)
--> Platform (5m, 7m, 10m)
Select Dive with iPad Spinners: Forward, Backward, Reverse, Inward, Twisting, Armstand, Straight, Pike, Tuck, Free, All Legal Dives . . . returns Dive # and Degree of Difficulty.
Tracks scores using 1, 2, 3, 5 and 7 judge rules.
Key in your athletes or import them from a comma delimited list. Attach Photos of your athletes to the database, various timers and events . . . making it easier to identify swimmers and divers during a fast moving meet
Designed to run without an active internet connection. E-Mail your results when you get back to the office.
The Swimming Coach's Clipboard is ideal for anyone interested in competitive swimming from the Club parent to a University Coach.
If you can use an iPad and a stopwatch . . . you already know how to use the Swimming Coach's Clipboard.

Not everything you want
Won't let you set up a relay team. You can enter a relay but it's under one swimmer's name. Even though you can set up Distance and desired split distance it Doesn't auto stop at the finish, it instead creates another split. You have to stop all watches for it to stop. Meet set up is clunky. I wish it had a high school meet setting and a separate USS meet setting. Wish it would allow me to set up a meet, enter swimmers into events, assign lanes to them, and then post/print the meet set up for my swimmers to view. Then I want the events to flow from start to finish of the meet for easy recall of kids times. The relay thing really burns me up. Unless I'm missing some detail... I want to be able to add 2-3 relays per event and get their individual splits as well, but I don't see a way to do this.
Great idea with some issues
Great idea and really saves time of the coach during the meet and allows time to watch the swimmer. There are a few issues that I am seeing as I work with it. The biggest problem is the relays- it only uses one swimmer's name or jumps to lap 4 - the fourth swimmer. I saw this was an issue with the previous version and it is still a bug. Another issue is when you go to type on the side pad- it won't scroll and the keyboard blocks the pad. Also, an improvement would be to see all the swimmer in all the events at once on a separate page. It would help with setting up the meet. I hope the bugs are fixed soon because I would like this fixed before the end of our season.
This app is a lot like one I wanted to write. I would like to see the hy-tek team manager file be imported in (its in a zip file containung a text file). This would allow you to per populate the swimmers and events.
Also, some validity checks would be nice. For example: a 50 yard event, can have a split distance of 100 meters? Also, a race of 100 yds with splits of 25 yds should show 4 splits. You can have 10 splits.
Meets are generally scripted. event 1 is X and it has 10 heats. event 2 has 6 heats. and each event and swimmer has events associcated with them. The meet should make this easy for us (or the meet manager file up load). Event meet in Michigan is ran using the hy-tek meet manager with feeds from team manager.
The last thing I would like to see is stroke count/distance per stroke button. I normally check this between the backstroke kickout markers. This allows me to continue to get splits and check distance per stroke for most swims.
