Selected as one of the "Best iPhone Games" by TouchArcade's 2009 Buyer's Guide (5-stars)
"This game is really worth its price and even more. There are games you pay 5 to 10 bucks for and they aren't nearly as addicting as Sword of Fargoal is. I hadn't more fun with the last RPGs I played."
"This is one game that is not to be missed, and I could kick myself for waiting so long to get this. So do yourself a favor and instead of kicking yourself later, just go and get this."
— Fans from TouchArcade forum

Sword of Fargoal is one of my favorite iOS games. While I like playing it on the iPod, I really prefer the experience of playing it on a 15" laptop. The artwork is finely crafted, music is majestic, and the retro sound effects remind that the game has a long history going back to the C64. It’s a “best of both worlds” game, harkening back to the golden age but updated with OpenGL effects and an orchestral soundtrack.
Great game and only one small drawback...
I love the iPod version and was glad to see a version of this for Mac!! It's been good so far. Only one star off for not being able to zoom out (like in the iPod app) or make it play in a window and not full screen. I'm playing on a 13.3 screen and it just seems really close up. Looking forward to updates and enjoying it otherwise in the meantime!
Lots of fun, if limited
This is a very limited game that does away with much of the complexity of a traditional roguelike - there’s no food to deal with, the character only has two base stats (skill and health), so it feels more like e.g. Larn than Nethack. That said, what’s there is a lot of fun and it has become my defacto “need to clear my head for five minutes” game of choice. FYI I’ve played this on OSX 10.9.2 without any problems.
