“Sword & Poker” is an RPG game, based on the classic poker game.
Unlike the recent RPG games that are usually complicated, we created an RPG game that is simple to use, so that everybody can enjoy.
The game rules are simple!
“Combine cards horizontally, vertically or diagonally to create a poker hand”
Together with its simplicity, we also combined the fun elements of an RPG game and the shrewdness of card games to create a unique sense of fun.
■ ≪ Story ≫
This is a story of a magical world based on cards.
Our story begins with the appearance of the monstrous creature called the “Lord of Chaos” in a small and peaceful village.
The “Lord of Chaos” has captured the magical “Stone of Creation” from the bottom of the earth, and has created a sweeping dungeon using the powers of the stone.
Many have attempted to defeat the “Lord of Chaos”, but they were all captured by his five loyal guardians ruling the area, and have not returned.
Now another warrior, in ready to challenge the “Lord of Chaos” and return the “Stone of Creation” back from the mighty dungeon. And so his quest begins…

What's New in Version 1.1
Well balanced Poker and RPG application
When I was younger I used to play the Final Fantasy games as they were released. I don't have the time for those epics anymore, but I saw this application and had to get it. This game is a stripped down RPG that lets you increase your HP, obtain "magic," and improve your weapon and shield. Your attack is based on the poker hands you form and, if applicable, what magic you have cast. Your level is well matched to your opponents. They can be tough but they don't overwhelm you. If you die, you can start the floor over. You'll keep your cash but lose any prizes you gained on that floor. The game automatically saves whenever you leave, so no need to work your way to a save point. Once you've beaten the first major boss, bonus levels are opened. At any point, including after you've beaten the game, you can go back through earlier levels to build cash and buy better health, armor or weapons. QUITE ENJOYABLE AND HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! I will soon start playing Sword & Poker 2.
Best. iPhone Game. Ever!
Seriously, I've downloaded dozens of iPhone games over the years. But this is the first one that made me put down my DS because I preferred a game on my phone.
Best way to describe this game is Puzzle Quest: Challenge of The Warlords, but with poker at it's core instead of jewel matching. It cleverly combines draw poker – presented in a grid where your "hand" can be made by combining cards in your draw pile with cards on the table in any one of eight directions – with RPG elements. Smart level design, a vast array of monsters to combat and ability to customize your character keep this game fresh even when you've mastered playing poker on a matrix (which does take some getting used to).
If I have any criticism it's that the game ends way too soon. C'mon, Gaia! Give us some more levels! I would seriously pay again for another ~30 levels and new critters to fight.
Best. Timekiller. Ever.
If you don't buy this game, you're dumb. I've been playing this game and it's successor for going on four years and it has never once lost it's glamour. It's fun, simple, addicting, and for the cost, you're getting something that'll take you way longer to finish than some dumb game where you crush sugar or live in a ville of farms. Plus, no annoying ads or pop-ups, and you can even compete against your friends in the vs. mode! No longer will you have to send a request to a friend on Facebook, blowing up their walls with notifications about extra lives! This, and the other version of this game, are and will forever be worth every single penny I've spent and I only wish I could give the developers more.
In short, but this game and the second version as well. You will never regret your purchase.
