Pretty Decent Start

Alec Deitloff

I haven't been able to try it out just yet, but I'm moving from my old Dropbox-linked writing application to this new one. So far, it looks like it's got a very promising set of features that I can leverage, and the interface seems nice and smooth. Also, this one ACTUALLY syncs with Dropbox 100% of the time, which is something that I can't say for every app out there (hence why I moved). You do need to manually click the sync button on the documents list in order to push or pull changes, but that's a relatively small price to pay. I would say that at the moment, if development continues (it's a tad bit worrying that the developer's website is down) it'll be a great app, though $13 is rather steep. I'd also love to be able to sync to a directory but still have all of the subdirectories displayed as well; changing which folder you are linked to means you have to sign out from Dropbox and relink your application, which could also use a bit of a UI flow update. But on the whole, I'm hoping that this being v1.1, we'll see a lot of QoL improvements because this app proves to be feature heavy and I'd like to see where this goes. All in all, if you're looking for a reliable writing application that can be distraction free but still have a ton of features and customisation (and you have $13), give this a shot; young doesn't mean bad.

Interesting, but buggy

Jeeber4u

A unique design with a tasteful approach towards minimalism, but buggy. Case in point: create a new document, open the main (circular) menu, and scroll around to "Share". BAM! Instant crash. Fix some of the issues and this might be a worthy contender.

*edit: fixed crashing issue! Can't find any issues and appreciate the unique design!

A great markup editor
