System Status is the ultimate app for monitoring your iPhone and iPad performance.

System Status provides powerful graphical monitoring of all the device's resources such as CPU, memory, disk, battery and wifi/cell data usage. Further, it shows network-related info such as wifi/cell connection details and routing table. Finally, System Status displays operating system details such as kernel version, memory page statistics and shows various hardware-related data.

• Graphical battery level display
• Battery state monitoring (discharging, charging, full)
• Estimated battery work time for different usage patterns (standby, audio and video playback, Wi-Fi and 3G browser usage, talk time)
• Adjustable battery health to make the estimated work times usable for older batteries

• Real time memory usage monitoring - graphical display of wired, active, inactive, and free memory
• Detailed page statistics including page ins and outs, page faults, page lookups, page purges and others
• Used and free disk capacity monitoring
• File statistics (number of songs, videos, podcasts, artists, genres, etc.)
• Mounted file system list

• 3G and Wi-Fi network connection information
• IP address of the current connection
• Carrier information such as network provider and MCC/MNC codes
• External IP address
• DNS server, default gateway
• Received and sent wifi/cell data since last boot
• Routing table

• CPU usage updated in real time
• Average load over the last 1, 5, and 15 minutes

• System boot time and uptime
• Operating system and kernel version
• Device model and user name
• Detailed CPU and GPU information - model, core number, CPU and BUS frequency, L1, L2 cache sizes, and others
• Hardware features of the device including display resolution, pixel density, battery voltage, battery capacity, front and rear camera resolution and many more

• Possibility to record up to 3 minutes of background activity
• Pinch to zoom & pan
• Play/pause to see real-time or history data

• Real time updates of the display every time the monitored parameters change
• Export by email, AirPrint, and AirDrop for most info
• Copy/paste support
• Detailed help
• Regular updates and support

What's New

Version 5.6.3

• Fix free storage reporting on iOS 11. For free space calculation use the sum of free storage and the storage used by iOS for temporary files which is automatically freed when storage space is low. This way the app shows the same amount of free storage as the Settings app.
• Fix crash when exporting plots
• Various minor fixes and improvements

Informative and Useful

Alright, alright. My bad too. System Status is a good app. I just wasn’t impressed with the design now that I saw Neptune. But you’re right though, I don’t know why I would want to have a system app that shows if my device is jailbroken or not (unless I bought it from an unauthorized reseller or something). But I am interested in knowing if my device has any virus from opening a message or an attachment. But then I wouldn’t be able to do much about it I guess. Also, probably have to wait for Apple to send a fix anyway. So, moving back to Status!

The Review

If you are looking for a system information app, this is one of the good ones. However, not that great in terms of design (for me). But that doesn’t mean I’m saying it’s bad either. It could definitely use a little of that iOS 11 theme - or not. The app already served its function, I guess there’s no need to. It’s not necessary but would be nice. By the way, a widget to view storage space and the network/wifi currently connected to would be helpful too.

Best of luck. I hope you do take some consideration for improving a bit on the looks.

Developer Response

Thanks for increasing the rating - actually, you really didn't have to, negative ratings are completely fine when I know they come from real people and not from accounts controlled by rating robots. You are probably right about the UI - it expresses my lack of graphical skills so in order not to make things look ugly, I just copied the simple UI design of the system Settings app with simple rows containing various info. No doubt there's a room for improvement here. Regarding antivirus apps: they cannot work on iOS because apps see only the directory belonging to them - not the rest of the file system so they cannot scan the whole system for viruses. But this is also the very same reason why viruses and malware cannot do much as they don't get outside the sandbox. Also apps cannot execute other processes so there's no danger you'd run some executable from your email attachment (in addition, only apps distributed from the App Store and signed by Apple are allowed to run). You can of course download some app from the App Store with some hidden malware capability but unless you give it permissions (which is where one should think twice), it won't be able to access anything outside the sandbox and do much harm. Then there could be macro viruses in document email attachments but again, Apple's Numbers/Pages don't support macros so these won't run. So no virus can really run or spread on iOS devices and no antivirus program is needed (I believe antivirus software even used to be disallowed to be published on the App Store which is why I was surprised the Neptune app got past the review process but I checked yesterday and it isn't mentioned explicitly any more). Edit: Yes, widget has long been on my todo list and I plan to add it in the future.

What an amazing app

This app is so useful to understand the hardware and software details of your iPhone. I use my iPhone to it max capacity and at times if I suspect of it slowing down or something ... This app comes in so handy.

I have one request from developer, if feasible can you please add how much is the internal temperature of my iPhone at that time and if possible it's history. For no reason, my iPhone gets hot and I feel uncomfortable using it. If I get this data then I can try to narrow down to a specific reason.

Very Interesting

Remoh Cuz

I’m a low-level geek who purchased the bundle (System Status; Net Analyzer) after reading an article in The Verge regarding Apple’s recent iOS updates slowing CPUs on older devices from 1400MHz to 600 MHz to prolong battery life. I wanted to check mine. A different app was mentioned in the article, but I bought this because I liked the dev’s credible-sounding responses to some reviews. Glad I did; I’m impressed.

First, I am fascinated at the abundance of data presented in a user-friendly format.
Second, the “About” section is loaded with explanations of this data, with links opening to even more info. The dev writes in a straight-forward tone that I can understand.

System Status confirmed my CPU has not been slowed, so now I’m happy & busy learning info in both apps.
