Open the Mac App Store to buy and download apps.
TabMeister is a great little desktop utility that helps you quickly get to applications, files, and folders without having to always search for them on your hard drive. The Dock in Mac OS X is a great place to put a few of your basic things that you use often, but the Dock is just too small to fit all the stuff you'd like to have easy access to, and there's not much organization to the Dock.
So, what TabMeister does is allow you to add Tabs to your desktop that act like pop-up folders containing icons of all of the things you want to have access to. For example, you can create a Tab named "Graphics", and in that Tab you can store links to all of your graphics applications that you use. Normally, you'll just see a small Tab at the edge of the screen, but when you roll the mouse over it, it automatically pops up.

Neat idea, execution needs some work.
What would make this app work is a folder that you could open to put icons in for each tab. As it is, I have to drag an icon over to the tab, hope it will open this time before I accidentally release the mouse button. You can't copy and paste an icon into the tab. If you put the tabs on the bottom left or right of the screen, you can't activate the tabs because the dock is in the way (at least it is on my puny 13" screen macbook, which I like, by the way). My bet is that the developers of the app have a giant monitor, so never run into these problems? Anyways, I'll look forward to the updates, when I can actually set this up in less than 10 minutes. As is, I've spend 30 minutes of wasted time, and then turned the darned thing off.
was a little scared after reading the reviews here...
But glad i downloaded it,
It is a great utility that took only a minute to get set up, and 5 minutes to get all my apps nicely orginized now...
EDIT: WOW I just reread description, it will let me put files or whatever I want in the tabs, not just apps!!! this is cool!!
this is gonna save me a bunch of time & frustration I was starting to have as I got so many apps on my macBook.....
would have gladly paid $5 now that I see how it works!!
one request if possible, can you add a way to overlay text on the app icons or tool tip like?, see I have 3 diffrent versions of one app and would like a nice way to add my own text to help me know which one it is....
and there was an option when it started to single click to launch apps, unlike whats said in the one comment here..
Better than the dock!
I've been using this since it first game out many years ago, and I still use it every day. It does a great job of what it's supposed to do, and it keeps all of the things I regularly use organized neatly.
