Upcoming features :
Improved drawing.

Current features :
Tactilis lets you use iPad for drawing the same way you would use pencil, paper and drafting tools. It lets you work on smaller details without loosing the big picture. It also lets you write with smaller print without zooming in the entire page. Drawing precise straight lines and circles is done in ways similar to using real drafting tools. Tactilis also lets you draw symmetrical shapes. Tactilis is a perfect app for quick hand-written notes, diagrams, figures, hand-drawn maps or just doodling.

Features :
Pen, Pencil and Eraser tools with multiple options.

Two paper colors and two types of grids that can be changed anytime.

Detailing panel for drawing smaller details in higher magnification. (Use the pinch out gesture to create the popover).

Writing panel for handwriting in larger print that gets automatically converted to smaller size on paper. (Tap with two fingers to create teh writing panel).

Drafting tools like ruler and circular ruler for drawing straight lines and perfect circles.

Symmetry tools for drawing shapes with mirror symmetry or rotational symmetry.

Use the in app help for more details. (Click on the (i) icon on the bottom left or right of the page).

Great app for quick sketches

pattithepotato

This app is great for quick sketches, but not so great for note taking. The pinch zoom is more suited for detailed touchups of drawings rather than for writing, per se. The writing window specifically is a bit clunky and i've had the app crash on me a couple times. Overall, this is actually a great app, particularly for jotting down design ideas or taking quick notes, but I think that if you are expecting it to be your main *note* taking app, you'd do better looking elsewhere (like Noteshelf or Notetaker HD).

This is the absolute best app

Valve1

This is the one app that I use the most. It is a must have on the dock. It captures my writting quite quickly. I love the zoom and the ability to rest my wrist as I'm writing as it would be with regular pen an paper. I can't really think of any improvements to this app because it is absolutely the best! And... it's free!

Great piece of software

TheSmartJudge

The two things that make this two star are:
-no folders! How do I organize all this?
-no horizontal orientation, so writing is harder, since you have to constantly be manually moving the handwriting panel

Without these it would be 5 star, though a handwriting to text would make it even more unbelievable!
