For Auto-Assist, we offer the following subscriptions:

€24.99 / year*

* Prices displayed are in Euros (€), actual charges might be converted to local currency depending on your country of residence.

The subscription amount will be charged to your iTunes account. The subscription will automatically renew unless canceled at least 24-hours before the end of the current period. If not cancelled, your account will be charged the above mentioned amount for the renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.

You can cancel your subscription anytime within the tado° app or in your iTunes account settings.

Pay for an app update

Since 8 months I have Tado iny home. I start using it 2.5 months ago (before the heating was off). It work very well until there was a server breakdown at Tado. Then I realised that most of its features did not work anymore. Then you start thinking, wat if Tado stops? Then I have a very expensive system which does nothing more than my old system.

Today I opened the app and it showede there was an update! Nice. But Then I saw I need to pay for the new version. Serious Tado? Have a look at Sonos or Apple. They provide New features Too existing customers instead of scare them.

$25 for an app to support your already expensive hardware!? Poor form Tado! Shame on you!

Charging for app update! Bad service!

So many bad things with Tado

When I bought the thermostats, nowhere on Tado's website was I able to check if my system was compatible. I was just promised it was.
When I wanted to start my installation on a Saturday, I realized it's not possible through the app (for a system that's supposed to be controlled by that app!). You have to go on their NON mobile-optimized website!!
You have to first create an account, and then enter the model of the existing thermostat you want to replace. For mine they just said "sorry we don't have instructions for this, we'll send them to you within 2 days"!!!
So my weekend project had to be delayed, with no promise that my system would be compatible with Tado (and again it's not possible to check for that before buying)!!
They sent me instructions a week later!!
I find that to be horrible customer service.

And now, I open the app and see that they want me to PAY FOR AN APP UPDATE!!!
When I buy a hardware product controlled with an app, the app is purely an accessory. Rev the hardware and have people pay for it, fine.
But making existing customers pay for an app update when there's no new hardware is ludicrous.
And making customers pay a subscription I so stupid. Your promise is that this system will save customers money on their heating bill. So you just ask them to pass those savings on to you I guess...

The fact that the system is compatible doesn't mean that the instructions doesn't need to be prepared for your specific setup. Our installation team will prepare them specifically for you as we do for every customer.
