TRUSTED BY PILOTS. DEVELOPED BY PILOTS.
Takeoff was developed by pilots like you, who understand what information you need to fly safely. Other pilots agree:
"I love the presentation of information on the screen. The colors are great and the interpretations are pretty much idiot proof." -Adam Zucker, Pilot
"First thing I thought was WOW! I love how quick it is to get the information quickly into my brain. Love the maps and other weather graphics. Love the TAF decoder." -Andrew Ohnstad, Pilot
Takeoff relies on NOAA METAR and TAF reports. Airports must report METAR/TAF information in order for Takeoff to provide reports. Takeoff is not a substitute for official flight planning and weather information, and by using Takeoff, you agree not to hold the developers liable for any inaccuracies or misrepresentations.
What's New in Version 4.6
- Bug fixes
Great app that provides current METAR and TAF data. The layout is nice and easy to understand, the complete aviation weather presentation, as well as added features make this app an excellent addition to any pilot and even weather enthusiasts. Radar views, map views (I'd like to see this improved to show airports with radar overlay), PIREPs, NOTAMs, and more. Just great! I hope they continue to improve it and don't get carried away with unnecessary changes/features. Well worth the price.
Post-update: never noticed any bugs per se but have noticed that some runways and other things are out of date. I'm unsure how or why that is. Like KSNA still shows RWYs 19 even though it's now 20. The weather is accurate though.
Love it. Use it lots!
This app is the bees knees. I go straight to it whenever I think about flying. I haven't found any easier or faster way to get the conditions and outlook at my airport and all the other airports nearby. You can set your personal limitations so that you get all the info color coded in a simple green for go, red for no go format - but without being dumbed down. The full METAR and TAF are still there, plus LOTS of other stuff (notams, pireps, other weather charts, etc) for when you want to dig in a bit further. This is the best thing I've seen as an app. I always check it before bothering to pull out my iPad with Foreflight or digging around on the aviationweather website.
I use this app regularly and wouldn't want to be without it! The interface is excellent and the information is presented in a highly intuitive format so that you can get thebasic information at a glance and then easily drill down if you want more detail. It's also nice to be able to select an airport and get its forecast. VERY well thought out and designed! I recommend it highly!
