This will shock you

It's an eye opening thing when you track your first day and realize 1) How many calories you're consuming in a relatively small volume of food if you eat at restaurants often and 2) How little nutrition these foods have. It's one thing to 'guess' and attempt to eat reasonably and keep track of your exercise, but it's quite another to see your week laid out in all of its 650 calorie Panera Bread Muffiny glory! I also got a wake up call regarding the amount of sugar and sodium i was taking in and this is something i wouldn't have thought much of if i had tried a fad diet. Since March, I've dropped 25 pounds and increased the intensity and amount of exercise I do every day just by holding myself accountable to this little app. I'll avoid going overboard because I know I'll hate logging it later and I workout longer and harder because I know I'm going out to dinner. It's like budgeting money. I pull up the 7 day chart every week to keep myself on track, and I don't avoid parties because by logging I know exactly when I've hit my limit. The only thing I'd recommend is buying a food scale for those who look to lose weight, and when entering in your exercise calories keep in mind that these are overestimated for most of us. I typically enter in about 600 if it says I burned 750, and so on. Otherwise, love it!

Fast and efficient

The food database is extensive, and being able to add custom items is very useful.
Example: I make a fried tofu sandwich and a small salad for my lunch every day, I have made a custom food item with everything included. So it is faster to pick the custom food item for my lunch then go through the database and select all the individual items.
I do not use this app because I need to loose weight, however since it tracks my protein and fat intake too, I can maintain the correct protein to fat ratio's for my training regimen.
The only thing I question is the calories burned for the various workouts they have listed. They are a bit high. I train for several hours a day, and everything I've ever read or seen for the same exercise and duration lists calories burned at about 1/3 less. Hence the reason I only gave 4 stars. If you use the exercise part of this app, be careful selecting your calories burned, bump the duration time down on the exercise you do, or at the very least always use the low intensity button. Otherwise you can actually "over eat" each day you exercise and not loose weight as fast as you want. In closing: I like this app quite a bit and the food database is huge and well done, being able to enter custom food items easily is also a well thought out part of the app. Thank You for your programming.

Outstanding app

As a physician, I am always looking for a way to help my patients eat better and lose weight. I recommend this app frequently for those who have difficulty maintaining a healthy weight. The results I've seen have been amazing. I find that Tap and Track Is foolproof for losing weight, provided that you input calories and exercise every day. Not only does this help to keep track of your dietary habits. I find that it has the added benefit Causing a change in the choices that patients make. The wonderful thing is, there is no need to restrict any certain type of food. A person can eat whatever they want, as long as they track the information and don't exceed their daily calorie limit. I have also noticed that my patients who use this have increased their daily exercise due to see positive reinforcement it has on your calorie limits. I have even requested my patients send me screenshots of their weekly progress reports from the online version.

I find the database to be robust and even in cases where food items are not there, one can put in custom recipes based on similar food items.

Overall I am very pleased with this app and would recommend it highly to anyone who is seeking a healthier lifestyle.
