TypeIt4Me Touch is a text expander, as used by tech columnist David Pogue.
NB: Unlike the Mac version by the same name, this app can ONLY expand your abbreviations inside the app itself rather than in any app you happen to be typing in.
HOWEVER, text typed within TypeIt4Me can easily be copied and pasted into any other app, thus greatly enhancing the usefulness of text expansion.

Use this app to save time when typing notes, tweets or emails on your iPhone, iPad (or iPod Touch). How? By typing shortcuts for frequently used words or phrases, called 'snippets'.
Want to type Best regards? just type 'br' and let TypeIt4Me expand it to 'Best regards'.
You can, of course, create your own shortcuts right on the mobile device, but if you happen to use TypeIt4Me on a Mac, you'll be glad to know that you can email your Mac snippets to yourself to use them with this app.
A Microsoft Word macro is also available on request to convert your autotext/autocorrect entries to TypeIt4Me format ready for use with TypeIt4Me Touch.
To email, launch TypeIt4Me, compose your text using your shortcuts for speed and accuracy then select Mail from the action menu.
For extra comfort, rotate your device and enjoy full landscape typing.
Use Twitter? Tweet at the speed of light by using text expansion within TypeIt4Me and choosing Tweet when your text is ready to go.
What's New in Version 2.0
Complete overhaul of code, now requiring iOS 5.
Now a universal app supporting both iPhone/iPod and iPad.
Snippets can now be stored in iCloud to share amongst your iOS devices. Sharing with the Mac version will follow later.
If you email yourself a snippets file created with the Mac version of TypeIt4Me, you can now open it in TypeIt4Me Touch right from within the email on your device.
You can now search for text across all your notes.
Apart from emailing and tweeting, you can now also send your notes via SMS/iMessage or copy them for pasting into other apps.
Optionally turn on Auto-Suggest to be presented with words from a list of 58,000 English words matching the first few characters you type. See screenshot where typing 'kal' brings up 'kaleidoscope' amongst other suggestions.
you also need the Mac version to really get the full effect of this program
now that iCloud is supported on both platforms the Mac and iOS this program really works put shortcuts on the Mac and they will check over with iCloud so for what it does this really comes in handy more so Dendy auto complete with the text keyboard shortcuts
hi recommended for Mac people but for the Windows side I'll Danderes anything for that if you have a Mac also by the Mac software actually good about the Mac software first thing about this
Disappointing… No instructions… not obvious how to use
I jumped on this because I saw a post by Guy Kawasaki but I really didn't understand that the text would have to be copied and pasted into other apps. I do see that it could be beneficial for texting and email. I should have read the reviews and even what the developers say about it here. Shame on me. However, there are no instructions that come with the app and quite frankly, it's not all that clear how to create a snippet. The interface is not all that transparent. I tried for some time to create some snippets and was not able to figure out how to label the snippet so the text would pop up. And how to save it. And how to access it quickly.
One of the best...
...apps for Macs. If Apple would allow this app to work the same on iPads as it does on the Macintosh, this would be a ten star app.
