iPhone and iPad inconsistent!
I love this app. But I'm confused about a few things, the biggest is the inconsistency of functionality between my ipad experience and my iphone experience. On the iPad, you get extra brushes like the calligraphy brush and patterns. On iPhone, you have to pay extra. On the iPad, I can import photos to a base layer, on iPhone, that's extra too. I was happy to see that when I bought layers on iPhone, it finally showed up on my ipad after I hit "Restore." I think a more cohesive experience between the two would help. Like sending a project to continue working on from one device to the other, including layers.
Other functions I'd like to see are, hiding or screening back the base layer and a lasso, so I could move, rotate or scale something I've drawn. I'd like to see the ability to move pages from one book to another.
This is mostly nit-picking, but it would move this app into the level of Sketchbook, where you get all these things for free plus brush sizing. I just like your design better.
I do love your color picker and the interface of sending pages to your album or through email, and would so like to give you a 5 star rating with a few changes. Thank you for a truly wonderful app. Keep improving it. Thank you.
This could be a good app. Though it doesn't even let you exceed boundaries. What I mean is that you need to pay money for the simplest of things. Like extra drawing layers, use of basic shapes besides squares and triangles, and you can't change the brush size. This is what really bothers me. How am I supposed to be precise if the only options for size are small and almost as small? It just isn't smooth. And when you have an app like this, the user must be as comfortable as possible so that they don't feel limited by the program. Otherwise, the user just gets fed up with it and tries something different. So why does this feel restrictive to me? Well layers are pretty important. Zoom is pretty important too. Lastly, this app just doesn't have many options for good sketches.
Good Sketch App for Stylus or Finger.
I use this primarily with my Adonit Jot Pro stylus. I am not a pro artist but occasionally need to sketch something really fast for architectural design purpose. I use it on iPhone 6+z. I have whole bunch of sketch apps such as ProCreate, Layers, Sketchtime, ArtRage, and that crap from Autodesk... All wonderful apps but THIS one responds particularly well on an iPhone using stylus. Lags and empty gaps in line is the biggest problem, but Sketches doesn't have lags too much. Writing will always be a problem even with Sketches but can write normally like a pen when zoomed in. So very good app.
