TC-11 is the only fully programmable multi-touch synthesizer for the iPad. Choose from the 160 included presets, or build your own using touch controls, device motion, and on-board modules. Create music with the next evolution of synthesizer control!

iDesignSound App of the Week 12.17.2011

"This thing is ALIVE! TC-11 is really fascinating and I'm having some fun experimenting with it. It is very, very cool!"
- Jordan Rudess, keyboardist, Dream Theater

"TC-11 is making my jaw drop every few minutes; realizing new and increasingly complex routing options. Rating: Essential."
- Tim Webb,

"Creating, routing, configuring, and general tweaking is unbelievably robust and complex. This is a big leap forward in design. A madhouse of sonic possibilities at your touch."
- David Israel,

√ 185 built-in presets
√ Unlimited user patches
√ Audiobus + State Saving
√ Fully controlled by multi-touch / device motion
√ Built-in recording + AudioCopy
√ 23 modular synthesis objects
√ 22 oscillator waveforms
√ 4 controller modules: AHDSR, LFO, Table, Sequencer
√ Email custom patches to your friends
√ Full display customization

There are no on-screen knobs, keys, or sliders to fiddle with; all synthesis is driven by your multi-touch performance. Touch relationships like distances / angles / timings perform all the controller functions. It's just you and the full screen multi-touch performance area.

EVERY synthesis parameter can be controlled by ANY multi-touch controller. The patch possibilities are limitless!

Use the iPad's accelerometer, gyroscope, and even the compass to attack your synthesis patch! Tilt and move the iPad to change any filter, effect, or module. You can create real vibrato by moving the iPad during performance, or change the speed of a sequencer by tilting forward and backward!

TC-11 has 8 voice polyphony for full, real-time synthesis. The audio engine has been highly optimized to deliver crisp, responsive performance. Choose from 22 oscillator waveforms, 3 oscillator types, 3 filter types, 4 unique effects, amplitude modulation, and panning control.

Fully programmable AHDSR, LFO, and sequencer modules make TC-11 the most capable iOS synthesizer in the world.

Use TC-11 in your band during live performances. Add TC-11 into your laptop orchestra. Experiment and create with the next evolution of synthesizer control!

Audiobus! I have been using synthesizers for over 20 years. Both analog and digital. This app is great sounding with more depth than anything in the app store. It looks cool when playing with it. With that being said, this app is confusing. It is not as easy as most apps. I own 100 music creation and sequencing apps and this is among the hardest to really dig into. It is worth the time if you want to learn it. This is an incredible sound making machine. Easily the best sounding synth app there is.
The developer of this app is top notch and quite happy to hear from users. I have emailed him just to say how happy I am with this synth. He truly seems happy to hear from people. He seems like the type of person who would love to hang out with musicians just to see what they can do with his app.
I purchased this app on Christmas Day 2011. It is now July 22, 2012. You could easily say the honeymoon is over. I have grown sick of so many sound creation toys in way less time than this.
This app is the real deal people.

If you're looking for a fine synth that blends nicely and fits the mold of typical synth apps in terms of sound and function? Then look elsewhere! TC-11 is anything but typical. You're probably not going to play conventional melodies on this synth, or look to play exact chords, or attempt to duplicate performances. This is a synth with a different agenda in mind. It focuses on expression and is quite nuanced in how the player is touching and holding the ipad. It's truly an ipad instrument vs. a synth adapted to the ipad. TC-11 makes use of the entire screen as its playing area. It seems that if you're into more avant garde electronic music, or experimental music of any sort than this synth is what you're looking for. The sounds are spectacular, and many stand out in a mix for their unusual changing timbers, which is good for transitions. Not many sounds on this synth are for blending. You will want to get this synth if you're making more unusual music, or want to be inspired by a new approach to the app screen.

Excellent for Sound Design

TC-11 eschews the visual metaphor of knobs, sliders, and buttons to create one of the first synths that takes advantage of the iPad's technology rather than just treating it as a platform for emulating older electronic instruments. This is not a virtual TB-303. What it is is a sound design tool that allows multiple controllers--including number of touches, relative angle of touches, speed of touches, duration of touches, x\y screen coordinates, and device motion--to alter numerous parameters (pitch, filter cutoff, resonance, delay, waveshaping, reverb, modulation depth, and more) in real time. The result is a an extraordinarily expressive sound generator. Moog and Buchla got their starts in an era when user interfaces for electrical music instruments were composed of switches, patch cables, knobs, and dials. That era is over. I think the folks at Bitshape do more to honor the pioneering work of these men by creating apps like TC-11, which leverage today's technology, than do software developers who fetishize the tools of the past.
