What's New in Version 2.6

Happy New Year from TED HQ! We're busy ramping up for TED 2016 in Vancouver (February 15-19) but snuck away long enough to get this release pushed out for you.

Here's what you'll notice:

* All TED talks are now securely streamed through HTTPS for additional privacy. Edward Snowden approved.
* Redesigned the layout of the talk details screen on iPhone and iPad. iPhone users can now see related talks as well.
* iPad Pro! We now take full advantage of your giant iPad, so you can take advantage of all 5.6 million pixels while watching your favorite talks.
* Added a few iPad Pro keyboard shortcuts to the app. Hold down the Command key and see where you can find them.
* You'll notice a cleaner look for the Featured tab with better typography and widescreen speaker images. Your iPhone 6s Plus will be so pleased.
* 3D Touch support! And speaking of your iPhone 6s, we now have a few quick actions on the TED icon you can 3D Touch on to get to your favorite parts of the app more quickly. You can also 3D Touch a talk to preview it.

Thanks for letting us inspire you. We hope you enjoy the release.

Add Favorites Synchronization and Night Mode to remove *BRIGHT* white screen

** Areas for improvement: **

1. Add "night mode" to reduce eyestrain from BRIGHT WHITE background.

2. Favorites in the app need to be synced and stored online with my TED account that stores different (online only !) favorites...

Bug: opening videos from internet in TED app causes a blank / black screen

Formatted explanation for QA to reproduce bug.
=====
Given I find a TED video online
And there is a "open in TED app" link at top of website
And I'm using iOS Safari with an iPad Air 2 with iOS 9.2
And TED app has already been deleted and reinstalled

When I click to open in the TED app
And it launches the TED app
When I click to go to full screen (in TED app) the screen goes black

Love the talks, Hate the app

Obviously I love TED talks, like any other educated human on the planet, but the app is terrible. My two big issues are 1) I've deleted and re-downloaded the app twice and when you click on the search button it loads a blank screen so you can't find anything you're looking for. And 2) the app doesn't have any of the smaller talks (TEDx, TEDmed, etc.) because ... well I have no idea. I guess those ideas aren't worth spreading.

Needs "my account" login and sync.

Signing in to "my account" on the actual TED website allows me to favorite certain talks and even mark some for future listening. Why can't I log into "my account" on the app and have those sync over?
