What's New in Version 2.4.7
We squashed a few bugs in this release to make your TED viewing experience even better.
Great app, but a user log-in feature will make it greater.
No problem with the content. TED talks are the most educational, entertaining and inspiring on the web. I strongly recommend these to my students, family and friends.
However, the app can be a lot more useful if users are able to log-in using their TED web profile so they can sync and manage talks and playlist, engage in a discussion or leave comments on each of the videos they view or listen to. In that way, a desktop to mobile experience will be seamless.
Alright, but could be so much better
The app is okay, but there are some annoying things about it. I want to be able to see the most viewed, top rated, talks just like you can on the website. I also find it annoying that if I am streaming a talk and get a phone call, I have to start to talk all over again. It doesn't automatically begin again and I have to manually start it again, which doesn't keep the spot I was when the phone call came in.
Great Content, Poor Interface
The three stars is for the actual content. You can't beat that. But it's not 5 because the app itself needs a lot of work. If I'm listening to the audio of a talk, and anything at all interrupts the playback, it stops, and doesn't resume, and my progress is lost. Basically, it they could take a lesson from the podcast app, it would be great.
