TellMeWare - Museum Guide

By Bright Angle

This app is only available on the App Store for iOS devices.

TellMeWare provides interactive floor plans for the world's most popular museums. Note - MoMA (NYC) and National Museum of African Art (DC) are free!
***Quick Tip***
Download the app with content before you enter the museum - connections inside can be spotty. Once you've got the app you're good to go - no connection needed!
With TellMeWare you can:
* Tap the map to see what is located in that spot
* Create your own personal trail
* Search a list of exhibits and areas and see where they are on the map
* See your route drawn on the map and get walking directions
* Follow trails created by the venue

Love this app

I like to roam museums and this app helps me tremendously. If I'm looking for a specific room/exhibit I find it super easily with the search function. I absolutely love the mini-map you get when you tap on a location in the search results. I know where I am, so the visual of the map gives me the direction I need to go. The route function is great and cool, the directions are a great attempt but asking the many guards along the way suffices. I wish there were more venue trails - would love to hear about other 'discoveries'.
For the buyer that complained that the app was not interactive - the description of the app is pretty clear - it is interactive meaning that you interact with the app AND it doesn't depend on WIFI which is spotty in museums at best. Interactive doesn't mean WIFI-dependent. One fan even wrote that not needing WIFI was the biggest plus. As they say - Happy Trails!

Happy Trails

I've used this indoor mapping app at Bryant Park, Grand Central and the Met. It provides an intuitive interface for creating and saving what is referred to as "trails" (a pedestrian optimized list of places you wish to explore) before or during your visit. Some venues have ready made trails for those that require a quick start feature. I prefer to create my own venue trails from the comprehensive drop down lists as i've found new places to visit that were unfamiliar. A good choice if you're visiting one of the supported venues. Happy trails!

Great directions and museum trails

I've been excited to try this app out since I first heard of it. I finally did the directors trail of the Met last weekend. First of all, I love the way directions are presented in this app. For someone who is used to following verbal directions, this was perfect. The map animations were pretty cool, too. I'm going to do a bit of research and create my own route, next. If you're a museum goer looking for a companion who knows his/her way around, I definitely recommend this app!
