I believe that the old sport adage goes that, “practice makes perfect.” .......
Though I was never much of a tennis player, I can understand that each sport has a defined skillset that needs to be honed at a high level. Whether it be a solid drop shot or nailing your lines properly, it stands to reason that if you learn these moves at a high level, you stand a chance at being successful. But how would you track all of the information necessary to know if you are improving? This is where the new app TennisProfiler steps in, allowing a watchful parent or coach to keep track of your detailed statistics, one swing at a time. .......
At the risk of sounding like a kiss-up, this really sounds like it could be a coach or over-ambitious parent’s dream. This is the kind of high detail feedback that could very well define the difference between a good and a great athlete. ......."
This iphone app is for serious tennis players or parents of junior tournament tennis players, who wish to track the progress on stroke development. With this app, you are able to create player data, enter practice records, plot the progress of the strokes, and perform maintenance of these records. Players are able to set goals, and track the progress towards these goals. In addition, players may want to set and meet some criteria (such as 60% on first serves and 80% on second serves) before he/she signs up for tournaments. In summary, this app provides a complete stroke profile of a player, and the strengths and weaknesses of the player.
-- "Add" and "Edit" the first and last name of a player;
-- Create a "New" database by removing all players and their records from the database;
-- "Delete" a player and all his/her practice records from the database;
-- Enter practice records to the database. Able to track all major strokes such as Drop shot, Groundstroke, Lob, Overhead, Return Serve, Serve and Volley;
-- Provide some suggestions on how to practice each of these strokes;
-- Plot the Daily, Monthly, or Yearly records of the strokes for certain period of time;
-- Update/delete records from the database;
-- Consolidate all the records in the database such that there will be only one record for one stroke type with the same features (such as serve type, court position, etc) per day;
-- Email the database to keep a backup of the practice records.

I purchased this app as a simple way of tracking ins and outs in practices and rallies.
From the developer, "This app serves a different purpose. This is for situations where a coach is feeding 3 balls to each player from a group of students. Each student will keep track of how many of the balls that he/she wins, how many they hit 5 in a row in a rally. The student will then enter his "score", while the other student has his/her turn in hitting the 3 balls."
WORTHLESS WASTE OF $5.00
A must have for instructors.
This app is a perfect way to track the progress of you or your student's tennis strokes. It even graphs the data. I really like to use it to track my serve's consistency.
