Great, but maybe add a few things?
I love this app, and I use it on a daily basis to help me practice music theory. Although I am aware that there is a progress report option on here, it seems of the arbitrary to have to make one every day. I think that if the app offered a practice log option, it would make it a lot easier to see how much I've practiced over time. I feel like when new users purchase the app, a practice log should automatically start with the date and how long they've practiced, so that it helps to motivate the user to practice daily and also helps them track their progress on learning with the app. It would be far more organized and helpful for users to be able to have it as an in-app feature. Other than that, the app is absolutely wonderful and I definitely recommend buying it--after learning the lessons as a basis online and then applying the knowledge to the exercises.
Don't miss this one if you want to further your musicianship
I recommend this app to all my students and use it myself at times to sharpen up some skills. There is a ton of content here, which is customizable to target weak spots. (Such as ledger lines) I taught my 8 year old daughter treble clef in one sitting, using concepts then this app for practice. She was amazed that she can now read the staff on her own.
Get this and Rhythm Sight Reading trainer and you can have some real musicianship in the bag.
Humbly, there is some room for expansion. I would like to see a rhythm or melodic dictation feature added. Also, the chord recognition is very much classical harmony. Why not expand to include more extended or jazz harmony? 6th, 6/9, 9th chords, altered harmonies, suspended...all of these sounds are part of the musical palette that should not be overlooked.
Great app as is, look no further folks!
This app is the best ear training tool I've come across after a good amount of searching. What makes it so great is that you can customize the skill challenges in so many different parameters. You can focus down to distinguishing between just two intervals or find weaknesses by testing the entire range. You can have it play intervals harmonically or melodically. The combinations are unlimited. Love this. Making all students download and practice. They'll all be better musicians for it.
