Open iTunes to buy and download apps.

Terminology is a browser for the English language – part dictionary, part thesaurus and part research tool. Terminology makes it easy to explore words and phrases, diving down to more and less specific terms - accessing the web and other apps for more detail and sharing.

More than a dictionary, Terminology can be extended with custom actions to search the Internet and other reference apps – making it a great place to start all your searches.

Use the share extension to select text anywhere, in any app, and look it up in Terminology.

Customer Reviews

Ugh, what a terrible approach...

Delete the version we paid for, then add ads to the new version without warning.

I understand there are some nice additions to the new version, and $2 bucks is a nominal upgrade fee, but what a terrible way to treat existing customers. If they had simply added the new version as a separate app, I would have checked it out and almost surely purchased the new version to support continued development. Now I'm likely to just delete the app. Grrr.

My go-to dictionary/thesaurus

So much to appreciate about this app. The word associations, direct links to further exploration on websites, and the clean design are all great. Nothing I don't need, yet everything that I do. Agile Tortoise is a wonderful developer.

Just an update: After contacting the developer about a quirk in the app, the problem was solved in the following update. Wow. Great app and a responsive developer. Guess what? I'm sticking with Terminology.

Suddenly, ads.

Purchased this app a while ago. Since the last update, I now have ads in the app - and must pay another $1.99 to remove them. Would not recommend anyone buy anything from a developer who does this kind of thing. Should have released a separate version of the app if he wanted to change his revenue model.
