Created using the official Apple Training and Certification program reference, “Apple Training Series: MAC OS X Server Essentials v10.6” by Arek Dreyer with Ben Greisler (published by Peachpit Press), this app offers 150 expertly authored questions and gives you the ability to practice, review, and assess your knowledge of the material, serving as a both a self-paced learning tool and an appealing way to review the official curriculum material.
You can test your knowledge in either the Self Study mode or the Test mode. Both modes provide a random selection of multiple-choice questions covering all exam categories for a unique experience each time you take a quiz.
Self Study provides a 30-question quiz designed to help assess what you need to review or learn about Mac OS X Server Essentials:

Try again or view the correct answer if you select incorrectly.
Access the “Learn” feature with detailed explanations and suggestions for further study.
The Test mode is a 30-question quiz that allows you to truly test your knowledge of the topic areas.

Partial credit given on questions with multiple correct answers.
Test results are stored in Scores.
The Scores sections captures your Test results and helps you track your performance over time:

Get a detailed Score Report showing your performance by category.
E-mail your Score Report to help organize and prepare.

You should begin your exam prep by reviewing the “Mac OS X Server Essentials Exam Preparation Guide” at http://www.training.apple.com/pdf/server-essentials-10.6-exam-prep.pdf.
Excellent additional study aid
The app really helped me figure out where I needed to focus on my reading, basically as their disclaimer stated. This is a good addition to your study guide, but nothing beats the book and real world experience. I would gladly recommend it to anyone looking for all the support materials they can find prior to taking the test. I do agree with the other reviews, an increase in the dynamics of the questions provided would be nice. As they mentioned, I ended up knowing the answer as I saw the question numerous times even though the answers would get jumbled around.
**Important Note for the bad reviews** Read the disclaimer that was provided about the app. If you are expecting the questions in the app to appear on the actual certification exam, don't. You are going down a path of false hope. The actual exam focuses on the application of knowledge rather than just the knowledge. This app can help you identify your knowledge deficiencies and where to focus while studying the Certification Books and other materials.
Fantastic resource for study
I've taken the previous ACSP and ACTC tests (10.5), and I love these, as I prepare for the 10.6 versions.
These questions and answers are based on the official study guide published by Apple, in conjunction with Peach Pit Press (the author of these mobil training apps and the official manuals).
The questions provide an excellent range of topics that will be on the test (from a database of 200 questions).
The Test and Self-Study modes are intuitive and easy.
This is not a stand-alone resource, in the sense that if you will still need to study the manual or get your knowledge from hands-on experience; but it does provide an excellent, intelligent, and well-design solution for preparing to take these exams.
Some Cons (or at least, suggestions for how this app could be improved)
1. It has a few errors
2. You cannot go through all the questions systematically (you get sets of 30 questions that are drawn randomly from the entire pool)
3. You cannot generate practice tests that focus on specific chapters or on your weak spots
I'm working on my ACSA and just finished taking my Server Essentials test today. This app was helpful in preparing me for the style of questions that were offered on the test. I wish they had a larger pool of questions to choose from. After a few days of working with the test I would get them almost all perfect every time. I agree with another reviewer that it would be helpful if you could select specific areas for review.
I hope they come out with more apps soon that cover the other areas of the ACSA certification, it would be nice!
