Text File Splitter allows you to split a single large text file into smaller files. All results are saved where the source file is located. Supported options include preserving the header row, selecting the number of records per-file, and the line terminator. Great for converting a single large CSV import file into multiple smaller files.

NOTE: The drop down is a combo box, meaning you can type a value into it and are not limited by the preset defaults.

What’s New

Works great!

Some people mentioned not being able to change the # of records, but the drop downs allow you to override their standard values and enter custom split options. This was the only tool I could find to handle some of the files I needed to split on my Mac. Great little utility!

Works as described

Works as described. I was able to split in differnet batch sizes by just typing in the new value within the drop down/combo box. You’re not forced to use one of the values in the list.

Does not work without file extension

This app is useless to me.
1) I have a ton of txt files that do have a file extension and this tool will not even look at them unless they have a txt or csv extension. Why?
2) I need to break up my files at specific line numbers - the same place in each file, and they are not the same number of lines.

Basically I wasted $2.00.
