Description

Type faster on your iPhone®, iPad®, or iPod touch® in any App using the TextExpander keyboard. The keyboard enables custom abbreviations to expand into long “snippets” of text, such as addresses, URLs, email signatures, and form letters.

** Requires a TextExpander account ** Keeps your snippets current on all your devices ** Sharing options let you share the wealth of knowledge stored in your snippets with your circle **

How does TextExpander work? Make an abbreviation “eemail” and have it expand into “email@email.com.” You can even insert today's date automatically with the default abbreviation “ddate”!

Use all your TextExpander snippets in Mail, Safari, everywhere, using the custom keyboard.

Use TextExpander snippets with any keyboard in over 70 apps with integrated support, including Byword, Dispatch, Drafts, Fantastical 2, Launch Center Pro, OmniFocus for iPhone, OmniOutliner for iPad, TaskAgent, and Tap Forms. See smilesoftware.com/apps for a complete list.

With advanced snippets you can even use fill-in-the-blanks to breeze through form letters.

Customer Reviews

Good app wrecked itself with pricing change

I used to rave about this product but the pricing change they have gone to is awful. The subscription service is a very poor choice. I used to recommend it for people but now I ask them to use other products.

Having said that... The expansion stuff it does is very useful as a software for productivity. Just too bad there are others that don't cost so much and do as good a job

Security and lame subscription

Long time user of their prior versions.

Just loaded this one. Asks me to sign in. To what? A smile API. I don’t have an account - no way to create one in-app. Their site says you have to buy a plan. Probably the first time I’ve seen a keyboard company charge a subscription.

This new pricing model also brings up a security question. It makes a big deal about syncing and sharing, but no info about any encryption or security. If I want a quick type password combo, what guarantee is there Smile will protect it?

Also: contacted support about the last version. Version 3+ wouldn’t work in RDP sessions. They said ‘that cant be done.’ Yet other keyboards can do RDP shortcuts (like nintype). So why is it impossible for this one? Since I can’t try this one, who knows if it works?

Keyboard disappears

Installed. Seems to work. But then keyboard for mail, messages, notes, etc disappeared. Had to restart phone. Deleted app.
