Fantastic Tool

I downloaded this app thinking that there was a chance it might work as advertised, and that it probably would only work well online, regardless of the developers claims of offline use. WOW! FINALLY I found an app that can digitize printed text flawlessly, online or off! It works very quickly too, and its always takes less than a second to scan and grab the text, where other apps can take forever to do it, with MUCH less accuracy! This is a fantastic tool for those who have to write long essays with many long quotes.

Great Tool

I have been in Germany for the last few years. This application has been extremely useful. I have been able to translate everything written communication I get in German into English. The application if not perfect but it does the trick. I can't read menu's, adds, shopping information, food labels and many other things on the spot. There is still room for improvement but I better deal with the 10% opportunity than with 100% ignorance. Bottom line, it is worth having.

Lacking, fails to detect

Maybe this works better with grabbing text from languages that use Roman letters and numerals, but it won't recognize any East Asian language I've tried.

I've tried it with images I've taken, with screenshots, and with images that even Google Translate's app will grab, but it just...lacks the ability to detect languages it offers.
Gave it 2 stars instead of one because it did recognize at least part of an image once, but only the once.
I tried the same image it partially grabbed a second time, a few days later, but it said it didn't detect any language when specified or not.
