ANYONE CAN SOLO WITH THE BACKING TRACK APP!
An active internet connection is required to use this app.
The mute switch must be in the off (no orange) position for the app to function!
The Backing Track App is designed to help new and old musicians alike with their improvisation, songwriting, and soloing. With 10 themes to choose from, available in 4 tempos and 12 keys, amounting to nearly 500 possible tracks!
Previously, iPhone users who wanted backing tracks on their device would have to purchase expensive CDs with a limited amount of options, often amounting to over $20 a disc! The Backing Track App provides the same or higher quality tracks for a fraction of the cost, and the convenience of having fantastic backing tracks available right in your pocket!
The Backing Track App can be used for guitar, piano, saxophone, violin, and virtually any other musical instrument! In fact, The Backing Track App can be used with multiple instruments at a time, making it possible for anyone to jump in!
Using The Backing Track App is simple, just follow the steps below.
1. Tap the track you wish to use
2. Tap the tempo and key icons in the bottom left and right to select the appropriate values
3. Press the play button.
4. Start jamming!
For additional information on each track, just tap the info button in the bottom left. To clear the cache or access the tutorial, just press the settings icon in the bottom right.
Musicians who are new to songwriting or soloing will find The Backing Track App to be a great stepping stone into the world of original music.
The app is continually updated with new tracks being added periodically, making The Backing Track App a great investment for any musician.

What's New in Version 1.2
Moved track files to more reliable web server. Should hopefully fix issues with tracks not downloading properly and app appearing to freeze.
A great start!
It is worth the 99¢ for aspiring musicians to practice. There are a few improvements needed, I think, though. I like the selections-- but several have choppy loops which need to be smoothed out. They are too distracting, in my opinion. I'd also like to see a 3/4 time track.
Overall, good investment to have an easy, portable track to jam with and practice that soloing.
Website Down, Doesn't Work
Saw the app listed in 148apps website and it sounded interesting so I invested a buck. Turns out it cannot play any backing tracks as the tracks are stored on the author's website, which it looks like he has not paid to keep running. If you go to his website, Joe Crozier Software, it shows the message that the site is not active. So $1 spent, zero functionality. It might be a wonderful app, but without access to the music, it has no value.
