Credit where credit is due

E- edition - After many months of struggling with this app it appears to have finally been repaired. It is running smoothly and doesn't seem to crash every three minutes. Credit where credit is due. Finally - thank you.

My original review still stands. After contacts with the Gazette IT staff to complain about crashes and malfunctions they have still done nothing. Has anyone at the Gazette read that digital is replacing print? You might want to consider investing in digital media. This app is so bush league that it points to complete incompetence.

Out of all of my many Apps this is clearly the worst. I have contacted the Gazette and even threatened to end a decades long subscription. They obviously don't care and pay no attention to reader reviews. I don't need to reiterate what others have already written. It's all true. The incompetence of the people who have built this app is unparalleled.

The alerts ruin it

The app seems to function fairly well but the log out button is in the worst position possible as you have to look down for home and the natural location for where it should be is the logout button.
Don't expect to get away from ads, even as a paid subscriber. This is an unfortunate issue as its easier to use another aggregator to get the same content and skip the ads. Who wants to pay to still see ads?
The really unfortunate part is you turn alerts on or off. But even when almost every other app allows some customization, this one doesn't. You get alerts on whatever they choose and its typically the most ridiculous stuff. Not to mention you will probably get duplicate from day to day. Ruins the alert function and at that point why even use the app, there is no real benefit. Get your news from another location or aggregator. Don't waste your time on this app.

Nicely done!

The Gazette app has a lot more features than I expected. I love the customizable alert settings. The app is easy to navigate and use and I like the option of using the app layout or viewing the print edition layout.
