Ratings and Reviews
Since there are two screens of words per page, one would expect a there is a way to get the words to go forward or back. NO! FAIL! My 4 year old wants the words to go forward since he can read well. My 3 year old is not as proficient, so he needs a little more time to sound things out at this point. Neither one likes the app because there is a predetermined text scrolling interval which cannot be changed or controlled. This makes the book a poor reading experience. Allow users to control the text and this would be a 5 star app.
Sorry but if the description says interactive, it should be interactive. Have deleted it immediately as all it does is read to you except for moving a mushroom or bird. If your child can read or will sit quietly while a computer reads to them then this might be OK.
Drawings: terrible to the point you're sometimes not sure what you're looking at.
Voice: sounds like it was slowed down with a machine.
Story: most offensive of all. Has nothing to do with Aesop's fable! Instead tells a bizarre and sad story with no moral. All it did is make my three year old cry for mommy.
Truly a shameful and embarrassing co-opt of a famous book. Seems like it was probably written by people who have utterly no idea what they are doing, and don't care. Boycott this developer.
