A book for early readers about a girl who wants to learn more about Africa. Features an immersive parallax world that kids can explore, and a narrator to help read along with kids.
Creative Interface and Storytelling
A wonderful use of the gyroscope function of the iPad. Moving the iPad around reveals more of the picture. Not in a way that is hard for a child to track, but in a fun, more-interactive-than-paper, kind of way.
Not a lot to the story, but a clever storytelling mechanism. The story is told as a child asking the adults she meets about Africa. It is a fun lens to tell a story through, and encourages kids to ask questions to take their own adventure.
Only minor quibble - the font is a bit small for a child to read along with.
Beautiful parallax effect
The illustrations are beautifully drawn and constructed in layers to create a parallax effect. As you move the iPad around you discover birds in the trees and lions hiding in the grasslands. A beautiful story and experience for kids and adults.
