Better than Siri, but needs work
I find Google assistant to be much much better than siri when compared side by side, but it still could be improved upon quite a bit.
First, it won't open directions in Google Maps. When I try To open directions, it brings up the Google maps website in safari, which is not great. Would be better to open the directions in the Google maps app, or have a link to do that quickly in the safari page (the current link opens the app, but without the directions I had searched for)
Also, the today widget has a 2 second delay to animate the button into the screen. Very annoying to have to wait for the animation every time I want to get in and just look up something quickly. Please please please disable this annoying useless animation
There appears to be no way to edit text if the voice recognition gets a qurstion wrong. You have to either repeat the question a few times until it gets it right or type it in manually. If it is just having a problem recognizing one part of a long question, having to type the whole question manually is frustrating. It would be much better to just have an option to edit the one word the speech recognition got wrong. This is annoying, and is soemthing siri does better.
With a little work, this is a total Siri killer.

I would replace it with Siri if I could do when you're shopping list is way better than Siri setting up appointments is better than Siri doing just about anything on it is better than Siri, it definitely needs more updates but still good you can even use it to turn on your flashlight on your phone Siri can't even do that!
Leaves Siri in the dust!
I stopped using Siri 2 years ago because she was too slow, didn't understand what I said, or gave me wrong information. OK Google is light years better than Siri even with bugs that needs to be ironed out. IE, it cant see my iOS calendar yet. Very responsive and fun to use.
